I love my Cuisinart food processor and it is nice to be able to use other disks with the detachable stem. It isn't inexpensive, but is worth the price.

This stem works perfectly with my DLC-5 unit. I purchase the blades that fit other 7 cup models and everything works beautifully.

I bought this for a larger blade I bought to slice things larger and this works perfectly. I wasn't sure it would be sturdy enough, but it's great.

I ordered this part, but it turned out it didn't fit my model (my fault). I contacted the seller and was instructed to send it back and then the right part would be sent to me. No one has contacted me since I returned it and I still haven't received the correct part. It's been a while so I guess I'm just out of the money. If the seller decides at some point to send it to me, I'll write a new review.

Finally, it works,

Without this detachable stem, the stemless blades sold by Anmazon will NOT work on a 7 cup machine. Glad that after multiple complaints, Amazon located this NECESSARY attachment. With it, the blade I bought months ago actually works.

I bought the cuisinart 7 cup processor from amazon, which uses this disk assembly part. I advise you, that if you aren't clever mechanically, enlist the help of someone ahead of time who will have the patience to show you the "trick" to learning how to attach this to the disks when the machine arrives. I struggled for 3 days to figure it out- My son figured it out in 2 minutes, but he has built computers. Afer he showed me what I was doing wrong, then the explanation on the DVD included, made sense. Had it not been for conan's help, I would have sent the machine back. What I should have done, is waited to try the chopping blade that doesn't use this stem for it's operation, AFTER I learned how to assemble the machine completely. After conan showed me how to attach the stem, then I sat down, and took all 5 disks, and the two blades, and put the whole assembly together SEVERAL times, so I didn't have to ask Conan to show me again. I would strongly advise others to do the same. Was it worth the effort? You bet! I refuse to pay $3 for a handful of shredded cabbage or hash brown potatoes ever again. And w/a dishwasher, cleanup and putting away is practically no effort. The design work, care and quality materials that went into the creation of this part and the machine it is attached to is very very apparent. |
