4.0 out of 5 stars Much better than the original blade
I like this blade much better than the original slicing blade that came with my machine. I hardly call this a "thick slicing blade", more like a medium blade. They should have packaged this one with the machine and sold the standard one as the "thin slicing blade".

This does a much better job, but I could use a real thick blade as well. A quarter inch is...

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit Cuisinart DLC5 Processor
Although Amazon recommends it as an accessory for the DLC5, it doesn't fit. It lacks the post that the DLC5 disks have. It's probably a fine disk for the processors it fits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Apple Pies!, January 14, 2007

I use my think slicing disc to slice apples for pie, and I am very happy with it. It makes near perfect slices (depends more on the apple how they come out) and they are all the perfect thickness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great on my 11-cup DLC 8, July 5, 2006

My Cuisinart processor came with a 4mm slicing disc. I aim to collect all of the DLC 8 discs/blades. This 6 mm blade works great, but I noticed it really isn't much bigger than the 4 mm. It makes a great backup blade in case the other one is dirty. Love this stuff. Great price too at $19.95.

This slicing thickness is much more useful for salad and stirfry veggies than the blade included with the FP

5.0 out of 5 stars Cuisinart 6mm Slicing Disc, February 3, 2009
This review is from: Cuisinart DLC-846TX 6mm Thick Slicing Disc, Fits 7 and 11-Cup Processors (Kitchen)
This is the size slicing disc one really needs for most food prep. It's perfect for potatoe casseroles and apple pie slices as well as most veggies for salads. The 4mm that is included with the purchase of a food processer should be replaced with this 6mm one. The 4mm is useless except for specialty recipies using very thin slices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for salads, October 18, 2007

Nice blade for thick slices. The 4 mm liquified the salad. The 6 mm makes a salad that stays fresh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to, October 20, 2011
This review is from: Cuisinart DLC-846TX 6mm Thick Slicing Disc, Fits 7 and 11-Cup Processors (Kitchen)
I actually didn't use this as a 6mm for long, because eventually I decided I wanted even wider cuts... so I took a pair of nose pliers and some oomf combined with caressing ingenuity and turned it into an 8-9 mm slicing disk. would've purchased a bigger slicing disk but alas 6mm is the largest they sell for the 7 cup DLC-10). Even back when I used to use it as its intended 6mm size it did what it was supposed to just as it does now at my modified size.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!, July 29, 2008
This review is from: Cuisinart DLC-846TX 6mm Thick Slicing Disc, Fits 7 and 11-Cup Processors (Kitchen)
I have all the blade discs for the cuisinart food processor and love and use them frequently. It cuts down on prep time, and I just plop them in the top rack of the dishwasher to clean them up. Highly reccommend!

Not too skinny and not too big. This slices zuchinni, onions, and other squash to the perfect size for simmering with red bell pepper strips and then topping with grated italian cheeses. It is incredibly sharp, works perfectly. I wish it had come with the Cuisinart, which has lasted 24 years!! It has given me a whole new reason to use it. Highly recommended.
