This has been a great coffee maker, it wasn't easy to have dropped the carafe and broken off the pour spout. Thank goodness replacement carafes are available. This one came with the lid (most places require purchase of each piece individually) and the price was the best available.

Many coffee makers will brew 12 cups, and many stainless steel carafes come in 10 cup size, so I looked around until I found this one from Cuisinart.

The high price of the Cuisinart carafe was a little bit of a turn-off, since I could find 10 cup stainless steel versions for about half the price, but I finally gave in when I couldn't find anything else at the time.

Overall, I like the carafe from Cuisinart. It keeps any liquid hot for many, many hours. If I had to pick on one thing about it would be cleaning inside the top since it is where the coffee pours out from. Other than that, what can I say? It's just a stainless steel thermos carafe.

If I can add one little tip to everyone owning or buying a thermos or carafe would be to fill it with hot water and let it set for a few minutes before pouring the coffee. The water will preheat the inside of the unit and will add a little more time towards keeping the liquid hot. Otherwise, pouring hot coffee onto the interior walls of the cold thermos or carafe will slightly reduce the coffee temperature, or time the unit will keep the liquid hot. Some may argue that I may be splitting hairs, but I want to keep the liquid as hot as possible for as long as possible.

One other thing. It's also great for keeping margaritas cold during the hot summer around the pool. Just remember to fill it with really cold ice water before using it.

I would have given it 5 stars if the price had been closer to the mid $20 dollar range.

This is a great product! It keeps your coffee hot for hours without it tasting burnt. It is also fantastic for when entertaining, you want to make a pot of regular and a pot of decaf. The bonus is, if you have the Cuisinart coffee maker, you can make the coffee right into the carafe! However, even if you don't, hours of hot coffee is just one pour away. Simply pour your pot into the thermal carafe and take your time... your coffee will be hot when your ready to drink it.

I wish wish wish they could make this thing right.

I bought the coffeemaker after being very impressed with my friend's model.

When it works, it works great.

In fact, my first thermal carafe, the one that came with the coffee maker lasted about 3 1/2 years. Then one day the vacuum seal seems to have broken. It no longer keeps the coffee hot.

I was made a little nervous by the number of reviewers who had had this same problem, sometimes after only a couple of months, but I liked the coffee maker so I shelled out another 50 bucks or so for a replacement carafe.

With a sizzling noise the vacuum seal broke this morning, just 7 days after the 90 day warranty expired, and now I have another useless carafe.

Well, not exactly useless. It still makes and holds coffee. It just doesn't keep it hot like it should, which is the whole point.

I really wish Cuisinart would improve their quality control because if this didn't break I would give it five stars. However having gone through 2 of these it seems time to stop throwing good money after bad.

Keeps coffee warm all day. Easy to pour, easy to clean. Have to be sure that the lid is screwed on perfectly to prevent overflow.

I bought this to use at work and have been very happy with it.
Hot beverages will still be warm in the morning - not hot but nicely warm. It's the cold beverages that have amazed me. I've filled it with ice, poured hot conectrated tea over it and had iced tea in the carafe 16 hours later! Summer will be a lot cooler this year!

This is a great carafe if you're using the Cuisinart DTC-975 Coffeemaker, and need to make large amounts of coffee. As noted by the first reviewer, it keeps liquids hot for hours & hours. It's nice to have more than 1 carafe - when having guests - so you can start a new pot and not wait for the last drop of the old one to be gone.

Considering it's just a coffeemaker pot, it's a bit pricey, but based on the the quality, it's worth the price to keep coffee hot without burning the heck out of it as on a standard coffeemaker, and be able to make multiple batches.

We have the coffee maker, and this carafe advertised here on Amazon is the one that comes with the maker. The carafe keeps the coffee steaming hot for quite a long time, that when I make coffee again in the morning, the leftover coffee from the day before is still pretty hot. I am buying an extra carafe because I am planning on a lot of company coming for the holidays, and I am going to keep brewing coffee during the evening - we all drink coffee :).

It is a stainless steel carafe throughout - no glass. For daily cleaning, I rinse the carafe out with hot water instead of putting soap inside and risk having soap residue remaining when brewing a fresh pot. I do clean it once a week. I use a little dishwasher detergent powder with hot water inside the carafe, and let it soak inside the carafe for an hour or so. It loosens up the coffee build up and I use a bottle brush to clean the rest of the inside. The carafe looks brand new inside when I get done. I also clean the cap by hand, but I have put the cap in the top rack of the dishwasher when I get lazy.

FYI: There is no button to push for pouring the carafe, so if you are intending on transporting this with liquid in it, just be aware that if you tilt it, it will pour! If you have this coffee maker, another thing to get if you make a lot of coffee is the permanent coffee filter screen - you will save a lot of trees and money over the life of the coffee maker.

I love this coffee pot! After five years though, the inside layer of the carafe was burnt and flaking into every cup of coffee. Didn't want to pay to replace whole coffee pot so I was thrilled to find that I could purchase only a carafe replacement. Price was right and coffe pot is like brand new again! Great value.

This carafe was just the thing we needed to rejuvinate our coffee maker. The old one had bad seals. Now, it's hot coffee every morning for three hours. The shipping was fast. No complaints at all...
