Love This Toaster,
By Ubiq (South Pasadena, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cuisinart Dual Control 4 Slice Toaster
All right, I've only had it a few days so I can't comment on it's durability; let say infatuated. Perfect toast every time. Very, very fast. Hard to burn yourself. High return position (you don't have to dig your waffle out with a fork). Precise controls (go low, weighted toward darker toast). Simple, easy-clean facade. Got it at C***co for 30 bucks. Mine's red. Can't imagine what the negative reviews are about unless Cuisinart's upgraded something in the interim. Only issues are:
1) A noticeable plasticky odor the first time you use it; goes away immediately. 2) Doesn't butter your bread for you. Nice low profile design. Did I mention it's fast?

Finally, a good toaster!,

This review is from: Cuisinart Dual Control 4 Slice Toaster
I did a lot of research and determined there was no such thing as a good toaster! We finally gave up and just picked one up at Costco (about $25 there) without very high expectations. To our surprise, we love this toaster! Contrary to other reports, ours toasts evenly. It is very fast which was big for us having previously used a toaster oven. It has a feature where you can raise the toast up higher to grab - no burnt fingers. Ours is black and is a very nice looking toaster. All-in-all, we are very satisfied with this toaster.

Failed After Light Use; Warranty Is Basically Worthless,
This review is from: Cuisinart Dual Control 4 Slice Toaster
This toaster was OK overall until it failed within the warranty period. But it turns out to get warranty service, Cuisinart wants you to pay postage to mail the toaster to them and back to you ($20+ round trip). That's almost as much as a new toaster like this costs in the first place. I'm just going to chuck this thing in the garbage and buy a better brand.
