I prepare food for my dog (she has a sensitive tummy and can't digest kibble.) I was batch-processing chicken and other meats in a four cup processor, but I could only make enough food for a day or two. This bowl is fourteen cups, which is very large, and the feed tube is wide, so whole boned thighs, or other foods can be dumped in easily.
There have been issues over the past decades with Cuisinarts since the company was sold and the manufacture went overseas. I had a bowl crack at the lug holes (where it fits over the base.) And I had a dough blade bind to the shaft due to overheating. The customer service however had been good. Since I have no issues so far with this unit, I can't complain, but I am being gentle with the bowl, as the plastic feels thinner in gauge than my older unit bowl.
The blades are nice and sharp, something not true of cheap food processors. This minces meat or chops vegetables very quickly. It also can make up enough dough for two loaves of bread. I suggest if you use the dough blade, you do not run it continuously, but pulse it until the dough is sufficiently kneaded, as I had issues with dough heating in past, and the blade sticking to the shaft. In addition, if making pastry dough, the heating is not good for the dough consistency.
