Cuisinart Replacement Work Bowl a very snug fit,

This review is from: Cuisinart FP-631ATX Work Bowl Amber
This Cuisinart FP-631ATX Work Bowl Amber is the correct replacement for what came with my DLC-10PLUS model. However in this case and also in the replacement of another part on top of this bowl, I have encountered pretty severe binding when I try to assemble things. Judicious filing of various surfaces on the replacement parts has helped some, but it is still more trouble to use than what came with the original processor. The original parts seem to crack and leak after some years of use, but I'm not sure how long this replacement part will stay sound with the forces that are required to assemble and disassemble it with the processor. With today's cost of two or more replacement parts vs a discount cost of an entirely new processor, the new processor may be a more reliable satisfactory solution for some.

The price was right, but the bowl didn't fit my Cuisinart, even though it said it would. My husband had to take a fine file and carefully whittle down the hole in the plastic (Lexan, or whatever it is) bowl so that it would move completely over and fit the base. Without the "tweaking", I would not have been able to use it. I did e-mail the seller to inform them that should they get complaints in the future, that they are legitimate. The seller responded within 24 hours (that's a good thing)...They said they were aware of the complaint and that "It has to do with the motor base expanding very slightly over many years. The previous bowl would have expanded with it, so it is not noticeable until a new bowl is used."

The Cuisinart FP-631ATX seems like it may have been a reproduction of the original by a cheaper manufacturer. While I do not have proof of this, the bowl I received was not amber as advertised and does not fit well. I somewhat expect the handle to break as it is very hard to put it on the food processor and have it engage all of the safety devices. That being said, I am using it and it does work.

Looks fabulous. Works perfectly with my older base. I just used a little cooking oil around the slots to help with attaching and removing.
