I just purchased this exact Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker and used it for the first time tonight. This product worked for me on the first try. I mixed whole milk, heavy whipping cream, sugar and real vanilla extract for a few minutes, took the ice cream bowl out of the freezer, assembled the 3 parts to the ice cream maker, turned it on and poured the mixture into the top of the lid. 25 minutes later I had a rich, flavorful soft serve ice cream. I put it in another bowl to store in the freezer. Wow is all I can say after using another ice cream maker I had years ago which used a layering of salt, ice and water if I remember correctly. At the time I thought that ice cream maker was great in spite of it being a chore to use. Thank goodness for this Cuisinart product.

I have had this 1-1/2 qt. ice cream maker for a couple years. I make ice cream a couple times a week during the hot months. So easy to use and not too bad cleanup, either (paddles are a bit of a pain, but the rest is a breeze). You can't go wrong with this one.

I am dairy intolerant so I make up a coconut milk ice cream mixture, and it works very well in the ice cream maker. I now want more quantity and am going to get another bowl so I can do two batches at the same time without having to wait to refreeze the bowl.

I bought one of these a couple years ago on a "Daily Deal" for $20. I see the price now is nearly three times this. For $20 or even $40, I consider it an excellent buy. I'm not sure I'd pay $69 for it.

The unit is easy to assemble, use, and clean. Yes, you have to plan ahead (or just keep the tank in the freezer, which is what I do. It doesn't take up all that much space). Yes, the unit is pretty loud, but I've never seen an ice cream maker that wasn't.

Mix your custard, let it cool to room temp (or stick it in the fridge, the cooler the better), put the canister on the motor, stick the dasher in and the cover on, turn it on, and 15 minutes later you will have ice cream. The outer cover allows you to do add-ins near the end with little fuss. Doesn't get much easier than this.

We've used this same type of ice cream maker for years. Alas, our old one finally died after many years of use. Needless to say, we ordered a new one from amazon. It arrived quickly and works like a charm. Definitely recommend this product, and if you're like us, get a second metal container (that's what the cream goes into) so that you have one always ready. It usually takes at least 24 hours of chilling the container so that it is cold enough to make ice cream.

I have never tried to make ice cream before. I liked the looks of this Cuisinart but also bought it because I believe my favorite chef with her own tv show uses it as well. I figured if she liked it then I might also. I need to keep experimenting with it and see what I can come up with for ice cream. I wanted to create more healthier and natural ice creams once in awhile. I did read the directions carefully first of course. The buttons are simple, not a lot or processes to have to go through. I don't make ice cream very often but I was very happy with most of my "creations" but it did come with recipes to follow as well. They all seem to come out a bit soft but then you just have to put the ice cream back into the freezer to harden. There are many many recipes online to search for as well, you don't have to just go by the recipes this machine comes with. This machine would be fun for kids to help out with trying different recipes to. Really happy with this product.
