Cuisinart GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick Cookware Series

Inspired by the great French kitchens, Cuisinart began making professional cookware over 35 years ago. Constructed of the finest materials available to perfectly perform all of the classic cooking techniques, Cuisinart GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized cookware continues a long tradition of excellence. Today, more and more home cooks are going green… and so is Cuisinart cookware!

Nonstick coating for any kitchen task
Nonstick coating for any kitchen task

Cuisinart's GreenGourmet cookware is designed with an exclusive Cuisinart Ceramica nonstick surface, which features a petroleum-free, ceramic-based coating that is applied at a temperature one half that of traditional nonsticks. The coating does not contain PTFE and PFOA, substances often used in nonstick cookware that have raised health concerns over the years. It was also developed using manufacturing techniques that reduce harmful carbon emissions by consuming less energy. The coating is also water-based, unlike other nonstick coatings on the market, which are solvent-based. In addition, Cuisinart's cookware has a scratch-resistant nonstick surface that won't peel off. The new cookware conforms to FDA and European RoHS standards for environmentally sound products. These pans should be hand-washed with a mild detergent. Cuisinart also gets some green cred from the packaging, which is made from 100 percent recycled materials and is printed using 100 percent biodegradable soy ink.

The pans deliver superior heat conductivity, requiring less energy to achieve the desired cooking temperature. Harder than stainless steel, the skillet's hard anodized exterior is dense, nonporous, and highly wear-resistant for extra durability and professional performance as well as quick and even heat distribution. Additionally, the securely riveted stay-cool steel handles are manufactured using 70 percent recycled stainless steel and is oven-safe to 500 degrees F, so food can be browned on the stovetop then transferred to the oven to finish cooking.

Features and Benefits

  1. Healthy Cooking, Easy Cleaning: When cooking with your Cuisinart GreenGourmet Cookware, you do not need to add oil or butter to prevent foods from sticking. If you wish to enhance the flavor and appearance of foods, you need add only a minimum amount to the nonstick surface of your cookware.
  2. Energy-Efficient Cooking: Select a burner size that matches the diameter of the bottom of the pan. When cooking over a gas burner, make certain that the flame touches only the bottom of the pan. If the flame extends up the sides of the pan, energy is wasted.
  3. Easy Maintenance: Let your Cuisinart GreenGourmet Cookware cool before cleaning. Cookware should be washed by hand with hot sudsy water and a sponge or soft dishcloth. Do not use steel wool or other metal or abrasive pads that can scratch your cookware. After washing, rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.
  4. Cleaning the Exterior: Cuisinart GreenGourmet Cookware has a smooth exterior finish, making it easier to clean and maintain. Food residue or buildup on the exterior of your cookware can easily be removed with hot soapy water and a scrub pad. The exterior of Cuisinart Cookware, like other brands, will show wear with continuous use. This condition will not in any way affect the superior cooking performance of your cookware.
  5. Convenient Storage: Cuisinart GreenGourmet Cookware has a smooth exterior finish, making it easier to clean and maintain. Food residue or buildup on the exterior of your cookware can easily be removed with hot soapy water and a scrub pad. The exterior of Cuisinart Cookware, like other brands, will show wear with continuous use. This condition will not in any way affect the superior cooking performance of your cookware.

Proper Cooking Utensils

We recommend using plastic or wooden utensils in your Cuisinart GreenGourmet Cookware to maintain its appearance and performance. Refrain from cutting foods or using sharp utensils such as forks, knives, mashers or whisks that can scratch the cooking surface. Slight surface marks and abrasions are normal and will not affect the performance of the Cuisinart Ceramica coating.

Durable Cookware for a Lifetime of Great Meals

With a little bit of care, you’ll enjoy a great performance from your Cuisinart GreenGourmet cookware for years to come. A careful hand washing after each use is usually all it takes. But if pans become crusty or heavily greased, a couple of hours soaking in hot sudsy water and a light scrub will have them looking like new. Seasoning your pans twice a year helps to maintain optimal performance, and it’s easy! Just add a half-tablespoon of vegetable oil and spread it around the entire interior, right up to the rim. Then place the pan in a preheated 300°F oven for an hour. Carefully remove the pan, allow it to cool completely, and wipe off any excess oil with a paper towel. Be gentle with your cookware! Avoid stacking, which may cause chipping of the ceramic interior. Show it off on a Cuisinart cookware rack, or store it carefully, with a little breathing room, in your kitchen cabinets.

As for the pan itself, it seems very well constructed.

Due to health concerns I'd never bought a non-stick pan until these "green" ones came out. It seems the surface of these is basically glass, with no chemicals.

This is a sturdy and attractive pot that heats quickly. I bought it mostly for boiling milk, especially skim milk, which sticks like a son of a gun with stainless steel.

No stick with this pot. The rounded upper edge facilitates pouring. Frustration turned to joy.

I wanted a small pot just to make such things as hard boiled eggs, etc. and thought this would be perfect. It is a bit light, but cooks well for the simple things that I need and cleans easily; however, I see that after only a few weeks the coating on the rim of the pot is wearing off. This pot does not go in a dishwasher, nor do I frequently use the lid. If the anodized surface is beginning to wear off, it does not bode well for the durability of the product.

I ended up buying the whole green line. My only complaint is that the non stickiness of it doesn't last very long. I still have a few of these left, but most I have upgraded to a different product.

I love the shape, feel, and non-toxic profile of this pan. BUT...I had hoped that if I was just very, very careful--washing by hand, not using any heat higher than medium heat, using "soft" utelnsils--I'd not have the sticking issues some have reported as early as 1 week into use.

Well, mine got "sticky" two weeks or so into use. I didn't overheat. I didn't stack. I didn't use non-approved type utensils. I treated it like a baby. And yes, I read ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS that came with it before use, to make sure I didn't do anything weird.

And yet, it now sticks.

I'll keep using it cause I like the non-toxic profile. But nonstick: hah. Let me laugh.

We're using this pot now for a few weeks, at least once a day. Now matter if it's oatmeal, soup or anything else, nothing sticks! Not a big fan of the lid (gets hot and isn't see through), using a glass lid from another pot.
Very happy with this purchase!

The pan is better than the one it replaced after 30+ years of use. No sticking problems so far and even heat. The handle's curvature complicates nesting with my current mixed crop, but no complaints.

I purchased this pan because I needed a new, small, non-stick pan, and really hate the glass lids that you find on most cookware today, which trap moisture, soap scum and bacteria, and take forever to dry after being washed. This pan has an attractive metal lid that is very functional, so I bought it.

The pan is made of heavy aluminum, with a nice flat bottom that sits solidly on my glass cooktop stove. Heating is quick and even, the non-stick coating does just what you want ... and it's very attractive to boot. Note that the pan is a bit heavy, the handle being solid metal -- and very comfortable, I will add -- so if you have any problem with the strength of your hands, that could be a factor.

Conair/Cuisinart does seem to get a little carried away with the whole "GreenGourmet" thing, with the instructions and packaging being rather over-the-top in pushing the whole environmentally-friendly thing. I'm pretty environmentally conscious myself, but it really doesn't impress me that the manufacture of heavy, gourmet anodized aluminum cookware which is shipped to the US from half way around the globe is an inherently "green" thing, or that by merely choosing the right cookware, we're suddenly doing our part to protect the earth. But that's just hype, made me roll my eyes a bit is all. You'd think with a decent product like this seems to be they wouldn't need to get into such silliness to sell it.

Only time will tell how this pan holds up. If it does, I'll be very pleased and consider it a fine purchase and value. If not, I suppose I'll think otherwise ... and the whole "green" schtick will look pretty bogus when I throw the pan away.
