Cuisinart's GreenGourmet Hard Anodized line of cookware combines a design with high-quality materials to ensure long-lasting performance with reduced impact on the environment. The cookware's hard-anodized aluminum construction heats up quickly and evenly, which means less energy required to achieve the desired cooking temperature, and its exclusive, scratch-resistant, ceramic-based nonstick coating (PTFE/PFOA-free and petroleum-free) helps reduce oil consumption and preserve the environment--plus it's applied at a temperature one half that of conventional nonsticks, and it won't peel off. Furthermore, its nonstick interior ensures effortless food release without the need for excess butter or oil, which means lower fat cooking options and quick cleanup. The pot's secure-fitting lid helps trap heat, moisture, and nutrients, while its riveted side handles stay cool to the touch on the stovetop and are made from 70-percent recycled stainless steel. Even more, Cuisinart uses packaging made from 100-percent recycled materials and printed with soy ink. Oven-safe up to 500 degrees F and safe to use under the broiler, the cookware cleans up easily by

I've had several of the Cuisinart GreenGourmet frying pans that are great at first but had to be exchanged when they started to stick. When they stick, they are awful, much worse than Teflon ever was. Even though they didn't start to flake like Teflon can, they became unusable. I had the same disappointing results with another "green" line, the Greenpan Thermolon sold on Home Shopping Network. They tell you to season these kinds of pans by coating them in vegetable oil and putting them in a 300 degree oven for an hour but that did absolutely no good.
So far so good with this stock pot though, I've had it for three months now. I use it quite often for soups, stews and curries and it has been wonderful - no sticking and cleanup is a breeze. It looks very high quality and the size is perfect. I was actually replacing a 5 quart stockpot and was worried it would be too big but it is tall and narrow instead of short and squat so it actually takes up less room on the stove-top.

Most of our pots are Chantal. We're quite happy with them, but whenever I drop one the enamel chips off a little and exposes the steel. Having done this one too many times, my wife got me one of these Cuisinart pots as a replacement. I'm happy with it - it works quite well. The inner non-stick surface seems to be very non-stick. We've only used it about a half dozen times, so I can't guarantee that the non-stick will hold up in the long term, but it has worked quite well so far.
One thing that I still like better about the Chantal pots are they glass lids that let me see through without lifting. The Cuisinart lid is metal and must be lifted for peeks inside.

People think that Teflon is metal, but it's plastic. It scratches, it burns, and most of all, it's a by-product of the refinement of crude oil. In other words, it's a nasty chemical that slowly leaches, picks, and flakes its way into our food. I like the idea of Teflon-free, which is why I purchased Cuisinart's Green Gourmet line. Cooking is even, nothing sticks, and it's not Teflon. Be careful though, some Teflon-coated products come up when searching Green Gourmet. Beware the search engine - read carefully!
