Cuisinart Multiclad is a superior line of cookware - I've been collecting pieces for a while now. I have no complaints about the double boiler (which rests comfortably in a variety of Cuisinart pots, and possibly others.) It works great, has a generous capacity and comfortable handle, and cleans up like a dream.

That said, it's really easy to make your own double boiler at home, using a heavy sauce pan plus a durable glass or steel mixing bowl that rests comfortably on top, never touching the boiling water underneath. If you have all of this equipment, you probably don't need to purchase this piece. If you decide you want a dedicated double boiler, then this is a fine choice.

This product is exactly what we have been searching for. Heavy Duty, Easy to clean,Comfortable Handles and Tight fitting lids. As with all Stainless Steel you must adjust you cooking method to a lower heat setting. As long as you keep that in mind you will love this cookware.As a matter of fact we loved it so much that we purchased every single piece of Multiclad Pro Stainless that Cuisinart makes. WE JUST LOVE IT!!

Effective double boiler - used for candies and chocolates so far.

I wondered how easily the stainless steel would clean up - but it does clean up very well and easily.

Have used this product now for about a month and absolutly love it. Handles stay cool. Cooks evenly, does not burn, cleans easily. What more can you ask for. Buy this product. No problems so far!!

I just bought this product - Cuisinart's Stainless Double Boiler, a week ago and had it sent overnight because I needed to make candy and fudge for Valentines Day. WOW it was so worth the delivery charge. It melts chocolate like a dream, holds the temp for awhile without being too hot and cleans up perfectly. It's like it's brand new again. I have to cast really hot sugar into a pan to make fudge, and this boiler handles the extreme heat without a problem. I can't say enough about this pan. I love it! By the way, it fits my 2 qt, 3 qt, and 3 1/2 qt pans so it is multi-useful. :)

My husband purchased several pieces of this cookware . We had searched all over and these really do the job. They are HEAVY...the handles aren't hollow and therefore don't get water in them. They clean up great. I bought Bartender's Friend (cleaner), which is recommended for this cookware and they shine up beautifully. You will not regret buying these if you are thinking about it.This set will last us the rest of our lives.
They would make a great gift as well.

The Cuisinart Universal Double Boiler fits in to the Cuisinart pot set i have. It will not sit on counter by itself because the bottom is round. The price was great, free shipping. I know there are more expensive pots but this is a good basic set to have. It functions well and cleans up great

We've been looking for a decent double boiler for quite some time that would actually usabley hold more than a pint. Not only will this hold a couple quarts but is wonderfully designed and a joy to work with.

We are most happy with this purchase, it works just so well and the price was just grand. Even buying as a used piece it was in like new condition. Came to us as promised, ship time very quickly. We would not hesitate to try other purchases like this.
