5.0 out of 5 stars Five Star Product
The Cuisinart Multiclad SS cookware continues to impress me with their quality, performance and value. The thoughtful design of this particular pan indicates the influence of an experienced cook. A large, easily accessable bottom area for browning and ingredient sauteeing coupled with just enough pan volume for layering those and other ingredients to construct simple to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Please read if you have a ceramic cooktop - defective!
If I could, I would give the product a "0", and Amazon customer service a "5".

I have been researching stainless steel cookware for a few months now. I have read tons of online reviews and decided on the Multiclad Pro Stainless line of cookware. I called Customer Service twice to make sure these pans were completely flat on the bottom and suitable for a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Star Product, August 4, 2006
This review is from: Cuisinart MCP55-30 MultiClad Pro Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Casserole with Cover (Kitchen)
The Cuisinart Multiclad SS cookware continues to impress me with their quality, performance and value. The thoughtful design of this particular pan indicates the influence of an experienced cook. A large, easily accessable bottom area for browning and ingredient sauteeing coupled with just enough pan volume for layering those and other ingredients to construct simple to complex casseroles or braises. Then, with oven friendly handles, the ability to go direct from stove-top to hot oven to complete the cooking process. Simple and practical design, great performance, quality and value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Attractive Serving Piece, January 11, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This pan was perfect for our sweet potato casserole this past Christmas. I set the pan on the table alongside the china serving bowls, and it looked lovely and kept the food warmer than anything else I might have used. The handles enable me to get the hot pan out of the oven much easier than if I were to use a ceramic dish without handles. I'm sure I'll use this pan when I need to pop a dish under the broiler for a quick browning. It's a practical, beautiful, well-made cooking and serving piece.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot Handles, November 24, 2007
I love these pots and pans!!! The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is the handles get very hot!!!! Other than that they cook nice and clean up easily.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good all purpose pan, January 12, 2009
I have been using the 5-1/2 qt size for over a year at least once a week. I now also have the 3 qt size. They brown, saute, braise, and bake without hot spots. They clean up very well washing by hand. I use these instead of a saute pan because they store more easily without a long handle and fit in the oven. They cook as well as my All-Clad pans.

5.0 out of 5 stars great addition to the set, or alone, August 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart MCP55-30 MultiClad Pro Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Casserole with Cover (Kitchen)
After a lot of research, I recently purchased the set of 12 Multiclad Pro, plus the other saucepan, the 6-qt pot, and this 5-1/2 qt casserole. This was the first item I actually used! I was able to use this large deep casserole pan to make chicken marsala (first time) for our family, on the stove, without having to sautee the chicken in small batches. Turned out great, and had fun, too! I included this item in my purchase because of a review that stated that the LID FITS THE LARGE SKILLET from the 12-pc set -- very, very, handy. Cleaning is no trouble at all if you do as advised; fill w warm soapy water and just let it rest. Bought the Barkeepers Friend, too, but haven't needed it yet (they're pots, no need to be too picky!). I intend to purchase the remaining pieces. They are very high quality, and a good value. Free shipping and speedy delivery were a bonus. Nothing negative to say, at all! My husband is happy, because I have taken an interest in cooking again, and am willing to try new recipes (I don't particularily enjoy cooking, after doing it for 30+ years...)!

UPDATE Nov '10:
I still absolutely love the MCP line of cookware, and highly recommend every piece! Still nothing negative to say.

I ordered all of my cookware (the 12-pc set, plus several add-ons) at the same time, and just realized today (when I went online to order the last two items) that the lid I mentioned in this review does indeed fit their largEST skillet (12" Skillet/frypan With Helper Handle), but THAT skillet is actually NOT included in the 12-piece set, like I mentioned above... Ooops! I enjoy every piece, and DO often use this lid to cover the (lidless) 12" skillet...which I...purchased...separately.

Note on clean-up: I have only needed to use the BarKeepers Friend once in over four months! (Even then, it was due to MY mistake -- I lightly oiled the 10" skillet, covered it, and left it preheating until I remembered it 20 minutes later! The olive oil had turned a sticky golden color that did not come off with normal cleaning. BarKeepers Friend and a plastic scrubbie took care of it though.)

As nice as the more expensive brands from William Sonoma. I got his one on a wonderful "deal of the day". I am using it in the place of a saute pan. Is is a shame it is made in China. Seared, then braised Chicken Cordon Bleu. Came out perfectly. It was very easy to clean. Followed the directions- filled with warm soapy water, then wiped it with a sponge. Then used some "Bar Keepers Friend" to shine it back as good as new. I will slowly add more from this collection as the need arises.

This product is exactly what we have been searching for. Heavy Duty, Easy to clean,Comfortable Handles and Tight fitting lids. As with all Stainless Steel you must adjust you cooking method to a lower heat setting. As long as you keep that in mind you will love this cookware. As a matter of fact we loved it so much that we purchased every single piece of Multiclad Pro Stainless that Cuisinart makes. WE JUST LOVE IT!!

I have the 12 piece set which I must say doesn't have a lot of useful large pieces. This pan goes well with the set and is the right size for most everyday cooking. Definitely recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great multiple-use pan, June 2, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I consider this my 'go to' pan for many recipes. We're a small family and this pan is the perfect size for many meals. I've used it mostly on the stovetop and like the fact that it has two handles. I clean it with Barkeepers Friend and only hand wash. So far I have no complaints and am happy I added this pan to my basic pieces.

A very pretty stainless casserole pan. I've used it many times since receiving it. Highly recommended. Very heavy, almost impossible to burn anything!
