Great buy! Do use packing tape to remove protective film.,

This review is from: Cuisinart PCT-10 Copper Classic 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
This cookware set is absolutely wonderful. First, it has a wonderful appearance. The shiny copper exterior and the stainless steel interior plus a very nicely designed handle makes this set and excellent kitchen display item. Second, this set is excellent functionality wise - it heats up quickly and evenly, cleans easily and just cooks perfectly. Third, it is a lot cheaper than comparable cookware from other makers of cookware with no compromise on quality. A quick note to potential buyers or owner, this set comes with a protective plastic film. This film is easily removed from the side but really sticks to the bottom. Instead of soaking it in baking soda and water mixture as recommended, use 2"- 3" wide packing tape. Get a long strip, press firmly onto the surface and peel slowly and the film will come right off. No soaking needed at all!

BETTER QUALITY THAN ALL-CLAD AT 1/2 THE PRICE!,

The Cuisinart Copper Classic Cookware 10 Piece Set ...is the best price I found anywhere! The equivalent All-Clad set would have cost me over $1,200. I have been cooking for more than 30 years. Most of those years as a professional. This 10 piece set by Cuisinart is based on the All-Clad "Cop-R-Chef" design, just in my opinion the Cuisinart is better quality. Heavier, and just seems to cook better. I would absolutely recommend this set to both professionals and beginners alike. HATS OFF TO CUISINART AGAIN!

I am an amateur chef who loves the challenge and relaxation that comes from creating new and exciting things in the kitchen. Other than reading or programming, it's my only escape. But without good kitchen tools your creativity will be negatively affected. Most people buy what they can afford and the frustration that comes with buying a bargain brand. It's the rare event that you really find a 'true' bargain. Anyway, after considerable research I decided to purchase the 10-piece set. Please shop around for the best price! I can't tell you where I purchased this set because the editors will strike my comments. But, save yourself some money and look around. Before I purchased this set, I did a lot of research looking for the best combination of performance and price. I seriously considered buying All-Clad for their renowned quality but the price was prohibitive. But, after carefully looking at the quality of the Cuisinart set, reading the testimony of others, and through actual use, I realized what a true value this set is. Each piece is solidly constructed with beautiful finishes, strong handles, and very nice lids so you won't have to worry about its longevity. The performance is just as praiseworthy. The pans heat very evenly, I've never had anything stick (I've had mine for about 2 months now), and clean up is a breeze. Deglazing for sauces is very easy. For a true bargain the value and quality of Cuisinart Copper Classic just can't be beat!

I bought this set at a price no one could resist. I never thought I could afford quality copper clad cookware but I paid less for this set than for an aluminum-disk bottom, stainless steel set I bought a couple of years ago. This cookware has the fine temperature control that is shared by all copper-clad cookware. The core aluminum encasing is just the perfect thickness to provide completely even heating while not impeding the fine temperature control of the copper. The cookware acquires and looses heat almost immediately. The sides or walls of these pieces take heat so well that it is hard to burn anything without really making an effort. Aluminum and iron cookware heat slowly but remain quite hot for some time after being removed from a heat source. The stainless steel cooking surfaces of this series is exceptionally beautiful and functional. I like to see what is happening in my pan and that is why I do not like dark surfaced anodized aluminum or non-stick. This striking cookware has high universal visual appeal and is fairly easy to keep looking good. A Dobie (scouring) Pad or soft bristled brush and soapy water is all that is needed to remove cooked on food when it is not deglazed. Barkeepers Friend and a large, soft sponge work best on interior and exterior stains not removed with the Dobie Pad or deglazing and restores the metals to there natural polish and sheen. The film that the cookware is shipped with is easily removed with your fingers except on the bottoms where masking tape is required to coax it off. This cookware makes cooking even more fun and is definitely more forgiving. From this superb Cuisinart line I added (over time) a 2qt saucier, a 12-1/2" braiser, a 5-1/2qt sauté pan, a 6qt stock pot and a 12-1/2" skillet. (I still need a 1-1/2qt sauce pan.)

Quality of All-Clad...Much Better Price,

Haven't used the cookware much yet, but the reputation of Cuisinart's higher line products speaks for itself. This product is built with the same construction as All-Clads Cop-R-Chef, but you get this awesome 10-pc set for the price of All-Clad's mediocre 7-pc set. The All-Clad pieces in their set are generally smaller too.Thank you Cuisinart for bringing some competition to the market for high quality copper cookware...

Buy it! You won't regret it. I cook everyday and the Cuisinart Copper pots are an absolute joy to use. It took me a little time to remove the protective plastic covering but packing tape stripped it off the bottom without any effort. I love the attention to detail especially the little indentation on the handles exactly where your thumb grips. I will definitely add more Cuisinart Copper pots and pans to my collection.

This is a great professional cookware, however it tends to chnage its color a little when cooking a lot with it,dont worry!!, this does not affect its flawless performance. I love showing off with it..

I've had this cookware about six months and it performs beautifully. Heats quickly and evenly. Handles don't get too hot. No sticking (so far), even though it's uncoated. Consumer Reports did a recent review of the stainless counterpart (Multiclad) and gave it only a "good" review, but I think this particular set performs as well as All-Clad and Calphalon Commercial (I have both, so this is direct comparison). The only negative is that the larger (3 3/4 qt) saucepan could use a counter balance handle, as it's heavy and awkward to lift when full and hot. I'd prefer glass lids too, but the contrast of the stainless lids/handles and the copper body is very nice. Need to use copper cleaner occasionally, but it doesn't tarnish too badly.

I have become so enthusiastic about this line, that I have purchaced most of the items in this package from open stock. I'm missing one or two, and have bought a few others not included with this set, but all are consistent. They are built to the highest standards, and if you are careful enough to wait for a sale, they are available here for song (relative to the other brands). At any price, they are lifetime additions to your kitchen. I have a variety of pots in my kitchen that would cause serious envy at a pot museum, yet I prefer using this line on a daily basis. They look, cook, and clean better than any others I have used for most tasks (I still like a thick aluminum, high quality non stick pan for some chores). Even if you have never had the pleasure of cooking with copper, you will be amazed at the even heat provided to the cooking surface, and wonder why you waited so long to take the plunge.

Protective Film,
This review is from: Cuisinart PCT-10 Copper Classic 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I purchased this set of Cuisnart copper cookware and am having the same problem with the protective film. One pan, I think all of it wasn't removed when I did that a few years ago when they were new, though I thought I had, obviously. It got baked on and damaged the finish. The other pots and pans, it won't come off. I've had these for a while and am reading the coating crystalizes over time. I'm sick of these companies and product problems. I paid $300 for a set of 7 pieces at Costcos. No bargain. Someone here suggests acetone, which I might try. I'm afraid it will damage the copper finish somehow of course. I tried the baking soda and hot water (boiling even) per Cuisinart's instructions on a label on the pan. That did not budge the stuff. I can't even find edges to scrape or pull at. It's almost like it has melted on or become a part of the surface. When I called the company, the rep did not even know what I was talking about and said there was no information on any coating of the cookware. He was going to send a request to corporate. Another rep said to send the pot in and they would replace it. Of course they asked, you're just now trying to remove it? Well, why would I think there would be a problem with that? I'm not sure they will replace the whole set which I just pulled out to try to get it off of. I was however impressed they would replace the stock pot. I hope the shipping costs aren't too bad. Sick of sick of sick of wasting my money on products with problems! It just seems so stupid they would coat these things with something that might not come off later. |
