5.0 out of 5 stars Scratching was not really a problem
I have read a few reviews that say scratching was a problem, however you just need to understand that you're not suppose to use metal utensils on a non-stick surface. I am sure you could get softer ones here, or cheap (and good) down at Kmart, (walmart, or target). Other than that, this beast of a skillet is a great value. (I paid $70+ for it on here 8 months ago) now...

3.0 out of 5 stars surface scratches easily
I loved this pan until about a week after we bought it when the surface started scratching. We've never used anything but soft, plastic spatulas on it and we've been very careful with it. It now has a lot of scratches and a couple chips in the surface. Also there are four big bolts in the side which I have to scrub every time I wash it. I do enjoy cooking with it...

My husband swears that the pancakes actually taste better from this pan. Nothing sticks and everything has cooked beautifully so far. I put it in the dishwasher once and it came out fine, but it really takes too much space to do that regularly. My only real complaint is that it really should come with a lid. Nothing we have is quite large enough!

I bought this skillet a few months ago...I now find myself always reaching for this skillet. My husband loves his eggs over easy, and this is THE pan to make the perfect eggs. Not one broken yolk yet! Nothing ever sticks! Do not hesitate about purchasing this. It is a dream. Honestly.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great piece of cookware, just a little big., August 31, 2001

This is a great piece of cookware. It cooks evenly, and the surface appears industructable (I only used it once, I'll need some more time to see if it is indeed indestructable) This is absolutly beautiful. The picture makes it look smallr than it really is, it turns out that the pan is absolutly HUGE. I could fit 5 grilled cheese sandwiches on the thing if I wanted, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. i can't spell today. Anyway, i highly rcommend this pan to anyone who isn't single, they should get the 9 1/2 inch version. (I'm in a family of 5 so it comes in handy)

5.0 out of 5 stars The best, December 20, 2002

CR rated this pan the best so we purchased it. One of it's
best features is the copper insert that really works, you cook
at almost half the temp with the same results..this pan heats
very evenly with no cold spots. The non-stick is high quality and very durable and the SS is beautiful..it's a show piece that works hard.

5.0 out of 5 stars cool pan, cool handle, July 12, 2008

This is my favorite pan. The handle stays so cool that you can hold it very close to the pan connection...the point of perfect weight balance. I know of no other pan with this feature and I am very sad that Cuisinart decided to change their handles.

No complaints after 3 years of 2x per week use. Still non-stick, good quality stainless steel, handle is still securely riveted to pan with oversized rivets, no worries about aluminum poisoning (if such a thing is truly possible). A definite thumbs up.

This is a excellent non-stick skillet. Heat distribution is good. Easy release and clean-up. But, this skillet definitely needs a "helper handle". Skillet is large and when in use it takes two hands to pick up. I would have gladly paid more for the "hepler handle".
