After struggling with one too many heavy hams or prime rib roasts between the roasting pan and serving platter I knew something had to change. I bought this for several reasons. For a start I have been pleased with this brand in the past. I also wanted dishwasher safe and just happen to have red small appliances & other utensils. I thought the lack of big barbs on the tips would make it easier to get the lifters out of the meat after use, sure enough it does. The tines are placed wide enough apart to keep the meat from turning like it does when you try to move the meat with a carving fork and knife like we did before buying this product. The tines are sharp enough to get into the meat without being a big hazard in a drawer. I haven't tried these on a big turkey but for everyday use for hams, roasts and I suppose chickens, these do the job at a reasonable price.

I love these Turkey Lifters and used them on Thanksgiving day. Was able to lift my 19lb turkey from the roast pan onto a serving plate with no mess. Thank you
