This review is from: Cuisinart WCH-1500 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System (Kitchen)
I bought this and wasn't sure what to expect. After quite a bit of research I did know this is a smokin deal for a filter which is NSF 42 and 53 certified. (You need that.) I also checked out replacement filter costs and frequency and this unit is very reasonable.Pros: It filters water very well. I live in LA and the tap water is horrid. Both my Husband and I like the taste. Filters are cheap and easy to instal. Whole thing is SUPER easy to use. Cons: The Cold and Hot tanks only fill up one glass each before they have to do their thing to make it hot or cold. I was expecting something like a tankless water heater where the water runs past the hot coils. This has tanks... It takes what seems like a long time to filter but once you get it going and you continually add water to the top you won't run out. This is not a con but you should definitely read the instructions on how to treat the filter before installing and using. ;) I didn't do it right so I just had to drain it and start over. Not that big of a deal. Overall, I love it. Money well spent!!

Cuisinart CleanWater System,

This review is from: Cuisinart WCH-1500 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System (Kitchen)
I own the 2 gallon Cuisinart CleanWater System and have been using it for 3 weeks with no problems. The cold water is cold, and the hot water is HOT. Set up was minimal with the exception of soaking the filter. I have not experienced any leakage or any problems whatsoever. My family has not bought bottled water since we started using this. I really love the design and how it fits neatly in the corner of my kitchen counter tops.

It's LOUD,

This review is from: Cuisinart WCH-1500 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System (Kitchen)
The product works fine in terms of filtering and cooling water, but it's really LOUD and even in Energy Save Mode, the fan runs almost constantly. After awhile you start to forget about it, since it's a steady white-noise, but then it stops and you realize how nice and quiet everything just became, only for it to turn back on a few minutes later. You wouldn't think a major concern about a water filtering system would be the noise, but I'm honestly ready to set it out for Goodwill...

We just received our Cuisinart water filtration system from Amazon on Friday and have been using it all weekend. The directions to set it up are easy to follow and really looks nice in our kitchen.Like many people we wanted to go away from bottled water to help the environment and save money at the same time. We selected the WCH-1500 to pick up the hot water feature and it immediately replaced our tea kettle which has sat on the stove for years. The temperature is perfect and instant hot water is a real plus.

be prepared to be creative,
This review is from: Cuisinart WCH-1500 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System (Kitchen)
It worked fine for the first three weeks. Nice clean water taste, nice cold temperature. Then it stopped cooling the water. I called Cuisinart, and they said, oh yes, no problem - it happens all the time. The cooling unit has frozen and just needs to thaw. Unplug it and leave it off for several hour to thaw. Hmmm, I thought - it's brand new, and I have to unplug it to work properly? Not a good sign. Replace it with a new one? Maybe - but that means pack it, pay for the shipping to return and the shipping for the replacement. Since I unplugged it, the water has been tasting extremely like plastic. So tonight I called Cuisinart again. They said, oh yes, no problem - it happens all the time. If the water tastes like plastic, just flush the system with eight cups of pure lemon juice. I don't have eight cups of pure lemon juice on hand, so who knows how this will be resolved. But a word to the wise - if you do buy this lovely device, budget some measure of your time for troubleshooting.

This item looks sleek on my counter-top and overall is a very convenient item to have around. I used to have a Brita pitcher and didn't like it taking up so much room in the fridge. This item also replaced my counter top hot water Tiger pot. It is able to dispense cold, room temperature and hot water- all filtered.~ Holds only about 2 cups of cold water at a time. Take a bit long to make cold water again. ~ Holds only about 2 cups of hot water at a time- which makes about one pot of hot tea or 1 cup o' noodle. GOOD news is that it makes hot water super fast. ~ Like other reviewers have mentioned, it does have a constant humming sound when it is keeping water hot and cold. However, there is an easy switch to turn off the power to eliminate the noise. I usually turn it off during the night and turn it back on in the morning or when I know I will be using hot water soon. ~ I had trouble with the first filter that the item came with...it was constantly stopping or dripping very slowly. I switched out the filters and have not had any issues since. Filters are pricey but they last 3 months.

Love this! Better than expected - based on internet research of customer reviews that was done before purchase. Find we are drinking LOTS, LOTS more water with this on the counter. Hot and Cold options are a major plus, as is the energy conservation options. Huge step up from pitcher filter. Taste of water is perfect - not plastic, and we do not find it loud... Easy to set up and maintain. It's perfect for three but we could see usefulness more limited if you are trying to maintain/use it for a large family.

A good solution for my hard water problems,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart WCH-1500 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System (Kitchen)
The water in my area is absolutely undrinkable straight from the tap. It is full of minerals and in addition is highly chlorinated. My husband and I had tried another solution which was large and cumbersome, the replacement filters were very expensive, and in my opinion the resulting filtered water was not that much of an improvement over the tap water. The Cuisinart water filtration system fits nicely on my countertop, and produces water that tastes as pure as bottled water. This solves my problem perfectly. I have only one small complaint. They need to rethink the buttons you push to dispense the water. They are clumsy to use, and if you press too firmly, the whole unit moves away from you.

I've gone through two of these units over the past 4 months and both broke. The first one had an electrical short after only two weeks of usage. The second one, which Amazon was quick to replace, worked perfectly for 5 weeks then the fan malfunctioned and the unit got really hot and made very loud sounds. Now it's too late to get a refund from Amazon and I'm stuck with it and out almost $150 bucks.I really wish this would have worked out because it fit nicely on my counter-top and the water tasted great. I followed the set up instructions exactly as specified in the manual.

I love my new WCH-1500 water filtration system. It's the perfect size for on the counter and looks great too! It saves me money and is good for the environment because I no longer buy bottled water. The only thing I would change is to make the cold tank a little bigger, I drink so much more water now that it's clean and tastes great. The WCH-1500 serves all my water needs-cold water to drink, hot water for tea or hot chocolate and luke warm for use in my Cuisinart coffee maker.
