4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful synth-pop avant-garde industrial wild & weird LP, December 23, 2002
This review is from: Cuisine (Audio CD)
Severed Heads is one man... Tom Ellard of Australia. This was my first album I got from them. It's nice synth-driven weird industrial pop dance music. "Host Of Quadrille" sounds like the theme song to SPROKETS from Saturday Night Live. It's a great album. The best tracks are the incredible "Twister" and "Golden Height/I'm Your Antitdote" along with "The Tingler (They Shine Within" and the very cool "Host Of Quadrille". The wild "Estrogen" is interesting too. Tom Ellard's lyrics are very odd and he has a feminine voice that complements that metallic electronic structures. "Out in the streets the cars are spinning in spirals / Not surprising, there's no one driving... Yippie Kay-yeah ki-yah, ki=yah, disese is truly USA / Stopping and Denny's along the way... beubonic plague."

The Piscatorial EP is all instrumentals of noise and weird sound collaborations. It rangs from the silly "Skippy Roo" to the crazy noise "Quest For Oom PaPA" to the beautiful soundscapes and ambient music: "Wonder Of All The World".

This is a great CD.. I also reccommend "Rotund For success"... And the brand new Severed Heads album "Op". you can get them all at the official Sevcom site. Look it up on the web.

A great album! weird and cool.
