This review is from: Cuisines of Portuguese Encounters (Hardcover)
The entire Portuguese-speaking world is embraced under one cover in an unusual cookbook which covers Portugal and its colonies alike. From Brazil and Cape Verde to Goa and Portugal, chapters survey different regions in addition to offering recipes unique to that region. The blend of culinary history and recipe is outstanding, making for an excellent pick for any library strong in international cuisines and history.

A mouth-watering trip around the world,
This review is from: Cuisines of Portuguese Encounters (Hardcover)
'In the sixteenth century, Portuguese navigators circled the globe...', you learn in the introduction. This book is a record of the resulting exchange of food crops and culinary cultures. Recipes are clearly presented and grouped by country and type (main dishes, desserts, and so on). There is a wide range for all tastes. All the recipes I have tried worked out well and were mouth-watering.
