I have had this measuring cup for a couple of months now and though I am not blown away by it; it is a measuring cup and it does its job. The only complaint I have about it is that the magnetic insert that tells you the volume from above requires you to adjust it from both sides. It's a little hard to explain but trust me it is not life or death. It is very nit picky. Other than that, I have been pleased with it so far.

This measuring cup was recommended by the March 1, 2005, Cook's Illustrated, and is the principle reason for my purchase.

The benefit was the cup's accuracy, and ease of reading the liquid level from the top.

The visual display mechanism is a detachable magnetic slider that is set prior to use. The slider may also be moved to the metric side. Pour the liquid in then watch until it reaches the measure, which is quite easy to use, and eliminates the meniscus effect.

What I find most enjoyable is the round interiors that make using a rubber spatula quite easy. Secondly, cleaning the interior is also very easy.

Pros: accuracy, ease of use with slider, ease of cleaning, microwave safe
Cons: cleaning the slider

The five star was not given because the time it takes to clean the magnetic slider. I tend not to use this.

I would certainly recommend both measuring cups to my friends.

It's a measuring cup! I love how it really does work reading from above. The markers inside are easy to read and the cup is nice and sturdy for it not being glass. It's particularly safe if you live with young cooks or if you have a hard time using filled glass measuring cups! This is lightweight and easy to pour. It is too easy to clean and the magnetic measuring clip is simple as well! It's about time they come out with a product like this!
