Well, it looks pretty. . .but that's about as far as it goes. One wonders if the people that designed this strainer ever used it. The thing you don't find out until you have this in your hand is that that pretty stainless rim has an overhang on the inside. The result is that when you turn the strainer over to rinse out whatever you strained out, that material lodges in the overhang and is essentially impossible to clean out. I have only the 12.25" size, but I'm guessing all the sizes in this line have the same problem. If you want a strainer as a kitchen decoration, then buy this. If you actually want to use it, don't buy it.

Very Strange Cuisipro Strain! Bad Design! Don't buy!,

I will give 0 star if there's one! It's about time someone said something! Thank you, Beth! This strain has the terrible design. With the normal strainer, you drain and flip over to clean with water stream. Then, the job is done. But with this strainer, due to the rim overhang inside, after you drain and flip over to clean with the water, and the water will wash some of the residue down into the gap between the net and the overhanging rim. Believe me, it took me 15 minutes just trying to wash the blueberry residue off the gap once. The gap is big enough for food to stuck into, and small enough for your finger or any tools to clean! What a shame! This well made strainer could be very handy if not for this overhanging rim inside!! As Beth said, buy it if you are going to use it for decoration, but not for use!
Update: Last while I was baking apple pie, I found another good use with this bad design strainer: it can do the shifting flour job! The screen is so fine that the flour becomes so fine after shifting with this strainer! Thanks God I am not going to waste this strainer!

Other than the description being inaccurate, this is a great strainer. Keep in mind that the basket is about 4 inches and not 11 like the description states.

Not good for juice,

One of the obvious drawbacks of shopping online is that you can't see the product first. This strainer is very tightly "woven", so you can't strain things like fresh juice very easily because it gets all clogged up.

I wish I had read the other review before I bought this item. The listing is very deceptive on all of these strainer products as they indicate the length of the item (who cares!?!) rather than the diameter of the strainer. Needless to say I am not a happy puppy! I wanted an 11" strainer and got a 5" strainer! How disappointing!

The other reviewers are living in LaLa land. Did they see the picture? This strainer is EXACTLY as advertised and I use it everyday to strain my loose tea. The hook on the top keeps it in place over my cup -- That's what it's for. A fine mesh is what I need. This is a perfect tool and I wouldn't change a thing. Yeah, I can't strain a watermellon through it but I think I'll survive. LOL!

You mentioned that it was an 11" strainer. Maybe I misunderstood. I was thinking diameter (edge to edge), obviously you were talking length. Anyway, It is a nice strainer not quite as big as I thought it would be but useful nonetheless. Well constructed.

Used as a double strainer for cocktails,

I'm a classic cocktail fanatic! I even host a podcast about cocktails. This is one of my must have pieces of equipment because I use it as my "double strainer." After shaking a drink, I will strain from my boston shaker using a hawthorne strainer in one hand while the other hand holds this above the chilled cocktail glass. This strainer is perfect for catching any citrus bits and ice chips making for a perfectly clean beverage. This product is a must have if you're crazy about mixology as I am.

Cuisipro 11-inch,

The product is fine. The description is deceiving. The 11 inches is the measure from the end of the handle to the tip used to hang. The width is about 4 1/2 inches wide.

The description states 11 inch. But the basket is only about 5 inches. Not nearly the size I was needing. Now I have to deal with returning it.
