I have been looking for one of these for a couple of weeks. For the price, I thought it would work great. First, It was the size of a salt shaker (did not read description well enough). Second, upon first use while trying to apply a coating of powdered sugar on my funnel cake, I thought I was going to throw my shoulder out. The sugar just will not come out of the fine mesh in the lid. I had higher hopes for this. Unfortunately, It is now packaged for a return journey back to Amazon and I am continuing my quest for the perfect funnel cake shaker.

My wife is known for wonderful French toast, except for the fact that she inevitably puts too much powdered sugar on top. That's when I discovered this ingenious sugar shaker! With its mesh top, it is perfect for the consistency of powerdered sugar (or cocoa). It delivers a fine amount of sugar just where it's sprinkled, rather than glops of sugar when spread by hand. The screw top prevents accidental spills. And the storage cap means I can fill it with sugar, then store with our other spices/condiments. I could not find anything like this elsewhere (Target, Bed Bath Beyond, kitchen specialty stores), so I recommend this product from Amazon.com.

I bought this shaker to use with green tea salt. It is a finer ground than most salt and this shaker works perfectly. The plastic cover keeps the top clean as well.

The shaker does not work well with power sugar. I was hopping it would but for the cost its not worth it.

We've looked around for a long time for a quality sugar shaker. Although this is on the smaller size, it is most certainly bigger than our salt shaker, as one reviewer complained! Someone said 10 oz and I would guess that is correct. The top and cap fit on snug and keeps your ingredients fresh when not in use, but are not difficult to remove. There is no chance of the cap cracking because it's made of softer plastic. Durable and works very well for intended use!
