This product worked great on hard ice cream. We used it at my daughter's first birthday. Grandpa manned the ice cream and was able to fill plates faster than the cake could be cut. The drawback is that it doesn't work as well on soft ice cream and there are multiple parts to keep track of. On the positive side, having multiple parts lets you take it apart and stick in the dishwasher so you know all the crevices are getting cleaned.

Very cool scoop, note make sure you dip in hot water and shake between scoops to get a good result. Otherwise it tends to stick.

Nothing to really compare it too, if you want to try a stacker scooper you pretty much have to try this one. BUT, don't waste your money. I don't care what firmness your ice cream is. We tried extra firm sub zero ice cream, soft, and near melting ice creams. All with the same basic issue. The ice cream rarely sticks into the scooper. So you take the scooper out and the ice cream is still in the container. Just near impossible to get the ice cream to break free from itself.
I have complaints about it's design after using it. But honestly that hardly matters because those flaws will not make a difference in it's ability to work well. I don't know how the Thrify's staker scooper works. But they also have a completely different tub based ice cream storage and specific temperatures, etc.
Put simply, you will get frustrated getting any ice cream to stay in the scooper and you will crush and bend the ice cream containers while doing it. Our counter was an awful mess when we were done trying it. Save you money and stick to the standard ball shaped scoopers.

Not bad...
Ice cream does not come out very easily or as need as it is pictured. I have used this on a variety of ice creams. Not much better than a regular scoop

Fun Scoop
It's a little difficult to get the hang of but works wonderfully for the ice cream cones. You can stack several scoops without the ice cream falling off.

Not like thriftys

Hard to Use
Yes, works best with hard ice cream, but the functionality of this is hard on the hand/wrist, unless you're scooping out from anything larger than a quart sized carton. Read more

Love this scooper!
I love this scooper, reminds me of Thrifty's ice cream. Ice cream comes out nice and smooth, you really don't have to fight with it like other scoopers.
