Product Description

Why Choose the Cuisipro Surface Glide Technology Graters?

asdf
Competition

There are an abundance of stamped and etched graters available in the market, but not all graters are created equal. Only Cuisipro's graters take etched graters to the next level with a special Surface Glide Technology, exclusive to Cuisipro.

In addition to razor sharp etched blades the Surface Glide Technology creates the perfect balance between ease of grating and maximum efficiency for the ultimate grating experience that etched graters alone cannot compete with.

In addition to the exclusive Cuisipro Surface Glide Technology, the entire line of Cuisipro graters and shavers possess well-applied ergonomics.

Features

Grate More With Less Effort With Surface Glide Technology:
asdf

The science behind Super Glide Technology is based in the repeated grooved pattern that is spread evenly across the face of the grating surface. The grooves provide 2 distinct benefits beyond other graters. First, the groove reduces resistance, making grating effortless. Secondly the groove elongates the length of each individual blade, so it has a larger cutting surface that comes in contact with food, therefore producing more gratings per stroke. Combined these features to create a perfect surface for outstanding uninterrupted grating performance where food glides through blades.

Protective Cover Doubles As A Measuring Tool:

The Rasps and Flat grater collection feature a snap on, clear protective cover with US and metric measurements. Not only does the cover provide safe storage, but is a container to catch grated ingredients for measuring.

Very few graters offer protective covers and no other grater in the market provides a cover with the added benefit of measuring or catching the grated ingredient.

Secure Grip For Safety:

The entire line of graters feature ergonomic handles with non-slip finish designed to protect your hands while providing the best grip possible for safe grating. Similar rasps graters don't have handles and other graters don't have the same attention to non-slip grip and ergonomic handles.

asdf
Non Slip End for Stability:

The Rasps, Flat and Dual graters have nonslip ends and box grater a non-slip base that keep the graters in place and steady while resting on the cutting board. No chance of grater slipping or sliding around the surface.

Majority of graters do not include non-slip ends especially for rasps and dual graters.

All Cuisipro products are backed by a 25 year warranty.

I love to zest fresh lemons, limes, and oranges for my recipes.

One nice feature is that, because of the length and the silicone/rubber ends, you can lay this across a bowl or pot and grate directly into it.
Amy Y.
Very sharp, grates very easily and smooth to use, and easy to clean!

Like the fact that they include two different grating sizes. There is a plastic guard that can slide over one end or the other to exclude the other size. I tried this unit on ginger which is hard to grate and it worked very well. It is also easy to clean. The plastic guard is easy to remove.

I love to zest fresh lemons, limes, and oranges for my recipes. I've always used a handheld zester before, the kind with the row of four or five little sharp holes along the top of a metal tool.

Now that I've been spoiled with the Cuisipro grater, I doubt I'll ever use one of those zesters again. Wow, this thing is easy to use. Zesting citrus fruits is super smooth, even if the fruit is not extremely fresh. Normally a lemon which is not fresh is rather difficult to zest. But the cuisipro makes zesting even rubbery lemons a breeze. The blades are so sharp and smooth that I had my tablespoon of zest in just a few strokes. It normally takes me four times that long when using a small zester. And I've got tired hands at the end.

I was worried that the super long length of this tool would make it unwieldy. I shouldn't have worried. Once I started grating, it simply felt natural.

Clean up is easy -- just run under water and hand wash (recommended) with a few swishes in soapy water. The clear acrylic hand guard words well and pops off easily for washing. I love this kitchen tool!

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I received my Cuisipro Dual Grater free from the Amazon Vine Program, in exchange for writing a review of the product.

I just received my grater today, and as it turns out I was making gyros and needed to grate some onion and cucumber for the tzatziki sauce. I used the larger end of this new grater, while holding the plastic shield that slides up to fit over the fine-grating end. There weren't any instructions on the packaging to explain what the plastic sleeve is for, but it was obvious once I tried to use it.

The grater is *very* sharp and made short work of the onion and cucumber. The silicone tip on the end of the grater held it mostly steady while I grated, and the grater rinsed clean easily when I was done. I also grated some cheese just to see how it worked, and it did well. The slim design of this grater means it will fit easily in a drawer, unlike my old fashioned four-sided grater that takes up shelf space.

The only criticism I have of this grater is that the rubberized tip/end is rounded. I think they should be square/flat to give a steadier base when I'm pushing and grating. One slip and those many tiny blades will slice me open. If you're a klutz like I am, be very careful using this product.

I took the time tonight to register my product with Cuisipro.com since they guarantee it for 25 years - the best warranty in the cookware industry that I'm aware of. You will need the product number from here on Amazon - I didn't see it on the packaging. It is: 746886

This is a very handy grater for anyone who fixes meals that require grated foods, or citrus zest, or freshly ground nutmeg or cinnamon.

This is a GREAT grater - microplane. I love that it has two different sizes available and has a sliding cover to protect you from one side while you use the other. It is VERY sharp and will grate your hard cheese or lemon zest SO quickly! The blades run in opposite directions, so no matter which side you're using, they are in the correct orientation for you to use. I marked it down one star because there is always one side uncovered, and therefore a risk of cutting yourself while you rummage through the drawer looking for it. I would hang it inside a cabinet if possible or put it in an uncluttered drawer to minimize this risk. Having a second cover that could be snapped on when no in use would be a perfect solution to this problem.

I liked the idea of a smaller grater, so I could put it over a bowl or plate. It is very convenient to use and easy to store. It did slip a little bit during the grating process, but overall seemed to get the job done with easy clean up.

I've used it for zesting citrus and for grating cinnamon sticks. It works great for both. It's quite large, and so it doesn't take a ton of effort to get the desired yield. Very sharp and effective, I don't need any other graters with this one around.

Be warned this thing is looooong (14.5 inches long, 1.5 inches wide).

I held off purchasing a grater for a long time because I had been using my box grater with 4 sides. The Cuisipro dual grater is so much better for smaller jobs like zesting citrus, getting a few shreds of carrots for nuoc cham, grating frozen butter for dough, a little parmesan for accenting salads, grating garlic instead of mincing, and grating ginger so well that I don't find any "stringy" pieces!

Each end is tipped with silicone so it's more stable if you balance it on a board/counter, but the ends are rounded. It's long enough that you can drape it across a large bowl and grate into your bowl.

The plastic slider is supposed to protect your hand so you can grip the device without cutting yourself (it's so long that the slider comes in really handy). The main drawback is that food can get caught under the slider, but thankfully that slider snaps off easily. Just be careful!

I *think* you can place this in the dishwasher but Cuisipro doesn't explicitly state that. It just says hand-wash is preferred.
