5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile and yummy
Passion fruit concentrate has become my favorite "secret ingredient"...I use it to make a citrus sauce for halibut steaks (water, sugar, cracked black peppercorns, honey, lemon and orange juice and zest, and passion fruit concentrate)--serve the fish on a bed of arugula, pour the sauce over, garnish with julienne strips of cucumber and slivered almonds, serve alongside...

1.0 out of 5 stars Too expensive, I bought it somewhere else for $3.00
You can buy passion fruit concentrate at mexican stores, it is called MARACUJA. It is in Portuguese, in a yellow plastic bottle. It only costs $3.00. I forgot the name of the brand, but just write it down in a piece of paper and take it to the store and a clerk can help you out. don't waste your money with this.

Passion fruit concentrate has become my favorite "secret ingredient"...I use it to make a citrus sauce for halibut steaks (water, sugar, cracked black peppercorns, honey, lemon and orange juice and zest, and passion fruit concentrate)--serve the fish on a bed of arugula, pour the sauce over, garnish with julienne strips of cucumber and slivered almonds, serve alongside jasmine rice, and your guests will feel they've landed in Hawaii...I also add it to Italian Cream Cake, replacing a couple of tablespoons of liquid ingredients with concentrate, and add it to the buttercream frosting as well in place of milk. I've used this approach to make everything from a three-layer cake decorated with orchids to bite-size mini-cupcakes dusted with orange sugar. My husband puts it in martinis with pineapple, and I mix it with Hypnotiq for a gorgeous aqua cocktail. Everyone always wants to know what that exotic flavor is, but I only reveal the secret to my best friends...

I fell in love with passion fruit while in Hawaii and have been trying to recreate a salad dressing since I came home. This puree was the missing link. The shipping is pricey but the product is well worth it.

I have a Hawaiian cookbook which requires passion fruit/lilikoi. I cannot get this where I live in Thousand Oaks, CA. I was thrilled to find this frozen puree and have been using it for my recipes. It works great.

There have been several comments about the cost of shipping, which I would agree would seem expensive at first glance; however, I know of no other source for the passion fruit and/or guava puree. The quality is wonderful. Other than growing your own,it's the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, April 20, 2009
This review is from: Passion Fruit Concentrate (Misc.)

Passion fruit is very popular in Brazil, where we use it for a variety of purposes. As juice to calm nerves. As tea to a good relaxed sleep time. In a Passiontini, smoothies and of course any sauce and dessert you can come up with.... I am so glad amazon.com sells this product. It tastes just like back home without all the work of cutting, scooping, separating and straining you would have to do from the fresh fruit itself.
If you haven't tried it yet... you don't know what you've been missing.

Not only did my puree arrive in a timely fashion, still thoroughly frozen, but it is delicious! I have been enjoying it in many dishes since its arrival, and I adore its pure passion-fruity flavor. If you can't find actual passion fruit, buy this.
