5.0 out of 5 stars Great filter....Surprisingly no loss of pressure!
What can I say, I have a culligan faucet filter, which is fantastic, and now I picked this shower filter up, as our city water has lots of chlorine in it. Guess what....Not any More, and the walls of the shower have no mildew buildup since I've had it on either! This thing is great, no loss of pressure, easy to install on existing shower head, and it looks nice n' clean...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Concept but cheap manufacturing
This is a handy product at a low price from a known name in water filtering. I bought two of them (one for each bathroom). Unfortunately in both cases there is a samll leak coming from the connection between the filter and the shower pipe. And yes I followed the instructions and did use the enclosed plumber tape in 3 layers. At this time the leak is small and towards...

I haven't got a scientific way to measure how well this works but after a week of using it, my hair isn't as dry and breakable and I'm not itchy after every shower so I assume it's removing chlorine as promised.
Fast ship and easy to install.

Easy to install (less than 10 minutes) and great results from it. My skin used to be dry and required lotion, baby oil, etc. after showering but not any more. My skin feels great and flexible due to the filter removing the chlorine from my tap water.

This is a great gift for your skin! I highly recommend it!

At this time the leak is small and towards the wall so it's not bothering me too much.

The other problem is that the filter rotates freely and easily, so if you use a removable shower head it will rotate with its own weight and the water will be spraying in the wrong direction! I am not sure what's the point of this loose design. I ended up rotating it so the heavy part of the filter (globe) is down, this made it stay in place, but it is a fragile arrangment.

Other than that, I like it!

For the price its a great deal it reduced the chlorine a great deal but it is still there. I actually poured a glass of water from the shower then attached the filter ran it 10 minutes and filled up a second glass to compare.

If I had to guess I'd say its an 80% reduction. I would love something better but there is no evidence that Sprite or Aquasana work any better. All 3 are only certified to remove chlorine and any other tests are so called independent laboratory tests that every filter company boasts about.

If one does come out at 10,000 gallon capacity that removes flouride for less than $100 and can prove it then I can justify the cost to get that junk permanently out of my system.

It may be psychological, but I think the older version that this filter replaced works better. If I had a choice, I'd stick with the old longer filters. The new style is easier to install because you don't have to remove the filter to get the unit on the pipe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better showers; very pleased, February 13, 2008
This review is from: Culligan ISH-100 Level 2 Inline Shower Filter (Tools & Home Improvement)
I do like this filter. I have noticed that my skin isn't as tight or as itchy after washing. I am going to get another one for our other bathroom. The filter is a little hard to change, though. The cartridge cover is hard to unscrew, but that is probably a good thing due to the water pressure that goes through it.

I have not noticed a reduced water pressure through the showerhead as I've read reviews from others using other filters. I do have a 1.75 gpm showerhead as opposed to most that are 2.2 gpm, so that might have something to do with it.

This was the best $17.00 I've ever spent. Due to hard water issues, my hair had become dry and tangled, and I was constantly getting small rashes because my skin had lost all its moisture. I didn't know why, until a friend told me it was probably because of chlorine in my water. When I ordered the filter I was a bit skeptical. I'd been spending a lot of money on expensive conditioners and lotions with no results. Therefore, I didn't see how such an affordable product could make a difference. Well, it did. Immediately, my hair regained its luster and shine. My skin has become as soft as it was when I was sixteen. I don't even need lotion anymore. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it, September 6, 2008
This review is from: Culligan ISH-100 Level 2 Inline Shower Filter (Tools & Home Improvement)
I wanted a shower filter after learning how dangerous it can be to breathe in chlorine vapors. This product is well worth the money. Haven't noticed any change in water pressure, just no more chlorine smell. This seems to be good for your skin too, as the chlorine-free water doesn't seem as drying. At this price, I will be buying several as gifts this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great with our heavy showerhead after a couple adjustments, July 1, 2009

In order for this to work properly and not leak or drip any water was to install it just like it looks in the picture (with the filter part above instead of to the side or below). After a couple weeks an extremely slow drip developed, but was solved by tightening the connection to the pipe.

I think the only reason that we had any issues at all is because we have such a heavy large rain shower head that includes the detachable hand held sprayer.
