5.0 out of 5 stars Works great
Simple to hook up. Very sturdy construction and does not seem to interfere with the flow or water pressure. Definitely would buy again

3.0 out of 5 stars Culligan RV-500A
I use filters in my rv and have been for years. Culligan makes a quality product. The only thing is they don't have the anti-bacteria, KDF, in this model. So I would buy the Camco, which has it, and it is cheaper. Culligan makes it with KDF, so you can get it in the Model 700 or 800 series. But be prepared to pay for it.

This filter was advertised for use with an RV, but I purchased it for using clean well water in an inground swimming pool. It appear to produce very clean water of drinkable quality and is a very good value on Amazon for $11.99. I have used it to top off the pool three times and the water is not causing any murkiness in the pool or discoloration of the marcite.

I hook this onto the outside hydrant to filter the water for my horses. I change it seasonally. During the freezing months I have a quick disconnect and a short piece of hose. I remove the whole unit, daily, and place in basement. It is quick, easy, and affordable.

very quick shipping, and very good product. water pressure is decreased slightly, but it's still good in our motorhome. cleans water and keeps impurities out

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique use for RV-500A, October 5, 2010

Cuyahoga Falls, OH is known for its hard water - tastes fine, just unusable to wash the car, exterior windows, anything that might show visible streaks. Even a small drop leaves a visible residue.

We used to camp so I was familiar with these filters so I thought I'd see how they worked cleaning up our city water. I can now wash the car and not have any junk left on the windows, no spots on the car body, and the windows on the house drip-dry with now visible deposits from the water. If it works in Cuyahoga Falls, it'll work anywhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars didn't do the job, October 15, 2008
This review is from: Culligan RV-500A Level 1 Recreational Vehicle Filter (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this filter so that I could wash my car with no spots from rinsing. I only noticed a tiny improvement in less spotting. I still have to dry with a towel, and that is what I wanted to avoid.
