5.0 out of 5 stars Works great - first use needs to be done carefully, June 18, 2006

The reason the previous reviewer had trouble was probably because he/she turned on the shower full power before allowing the filter to fully soak with water. Like any filter it is dry to start, after you install the new filter for the first time turn your water on slowly to allow the filter to soak then it handles the pressure perfectly. Just installed it yesterday so will write another review later to describe how effective the filter is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not acceptable, July 24, 2005
I was quite surprised to learn that the filter is not designed to be water sealed. While the installation direction clearedly says that it is required to apply Teflon tape, it still feels like a 19th centry technolodgy. On the bright side, a small scroll of the said tape is included in the package.

The installation is easy and simple. Unfortunately, when we attached our shower head back and tested it for the first time, the filter could not sustain the water pressure and broke into two pieces. Luckily the only casualty was our light bulb.

Item returned without much of discussion. I hope this company's got a good return policy.
