5.0 out of 5 stars Score, June 9, 2010

This review is from: Cult of Color (Audio CD)
There's no easy way to describe or identify "Cult of Color." I suppose the same can be said for Graham Reynolds' style in general. I can sit here and type about how it's a score for a ballet, and how there are recurring themes cycling in and out of the continuous music. I can tell you about the instruments used, I suppose; drums, auxiliary percussion, piano, and various woodwinds and strings. I can try to describe the music, which isn't strange enough to be avant-garde but not classicist enough to be conventional.

All I'm able to say is this: "Cult of Color" is very, very good. This is one of those things were, despite your limited understanding of what is going on, musicianship and composition walk side by side in equal measure. I like Graham Reynolds now.
