5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful nostalgia
Most people do not know who performed many of the jingles they heard in the fifties and sixties; they loved them. Now they know the source of such wit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy Music for TV Dinners, instead
If you're looking for that great, and underappreciated, sound of the British Light Music industry of the 50's and 60's, then buy Music for TV Dinners instead. The music on this TV Themes CD just doesn't have any life in it. It's disposable music; only suitable for radio/TV ad backgrounds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emma Peel version of "The Avengers" Theme, July 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cult TV Themes by Laurie Johnson (Audio CD)
This compilation of TV music by Laurie Johnson includes an excellent (if not the
original) recording of "The Avengers" theme of the Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) era.
It's an extended version (2 minutes +) and most noticeably does not include the
"Tara King solo". The Emma Peel version of "The Avengers" theme was sorely missing from the Vol. 1-50 Years of the Music of Laurie Johnson compilation, even though that title featured Mrs. Peel silhouette prominently in its cover, and you can find it here on "Cult TV Themes by Laurie Johnson".

Tara fans need not to worry, as the original theme from "The Avengers" Tara King (Linda Thorson) episodes is also included as "Thorson Theme".
