More About the Author

Dick Gruber M.A. is a professor of children's ministry at Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, PA. Gruber has served as a volunteer and leader in children's church ministry since March of 1975. He is a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Gruber is co-founder of Children's Ministry University Online and a host on the Children's Ministry Talk podcast. He has been a featured speaker in camps, conferences, and at churches for over three decades.

Hi, I'm Dick Gruber. The above biography cries for somebody to fill in the gaps between the lines and spaces. I love my wife, Darlene, our four children and at this moment, ten grandchildren. I enjoy cartooning, playing the piano, and cooking good food for Darlene, the kids, and my college students. I hope someday to make pancakes as good as those made by my grandfather, James Doksansky. I drool just thinking about them.

I am a volunteer in my local church and have enjoyed a growing relationship with Jesus Christ since January 19, 1975. I serve the most unreached and neglected people group on planet earth, the children. My life is dedicated to them and to the fabulous people leading them in churches around the world. For this reason, my podcast, Children's Ministry Talk, is free. Did I mention that I love my wife? God bless you for reading this.

Developing a cutting edge children's church is so much more than the gadgets and technology that are continually changing. Jesus built His teachings around the common and ordinary things in life. He taught that nurturing relationships would bring about the changes in our sinful lives. The best relationship that we can develop is our relationship with our Lord. The most wonderful relationship we can nurture in the children's lives that we touch is the child's relationship with God. This book shows us how to do that in a timeless manner. Children need to see Jesus in the flesh, and we are compelled to bring Jesus into children's lives by being examples of Jesus in the flesh. By building relationships between workers, between children, between us and our Lord we further His Kingdom. Thank you for a book that shows us that we can use our lives, what we have been given, and the Lord's assistance to touch the lives of children and prepare them for an eternity with our Lord.
