This review is from: Cults and New Religious Movements: A Report of the American Psychiatric Association (Hardcover)
This book is copyright 1989 so some of the references and web help has changed. One major web help site was bought by the Church of Scientology so is no longer useful. The overview of issues & individual chapters do help to answer many questions. I was looking for implications around friends and family involvement and the legal options. This is addressed. Over all I have learned how complicated religious movements social & psychological issues are. Family members of people who choose to join have so much to deal with. The report of the American Psychiatric Association is a very good book but now we need some group to update it with Volume II.
