We are presented with a description of every work that Shostakovich wrote, two complete family photograph albums, over 800 official and documentary photographs of Shostakovich and his life, 33 movie clips featuring Shostakovich performing, conducting, composing, a complete discography of every recording, accurate up to the year 2000, commentaries by Shostrakovich's contemporaries and performers and a year-by-year portrayal of his life and works using documents and letters from his life.

This DVD (or the related CD) is essential for any Shostakovich enthusiast. There is more material here than can be viewed in a week of exploring, and much of it never before published in any form.
