From the Back Cover
Why is peace such a divisive issue, even among Christians? Why is peace often considered an extra, rather than an essential, to faithful Christian living? The authors suggest how to develop "peacemaking reflexes"; how churches "can learn to handle conflict well"; and how to cultivate vulnerability and humility, two essential "attitudes of peacemakers."
"Excellent-a solidly biblical, highly readable, superb restatement of Jesus' call to peacemaking. This book is a clear, winsome articulation of biblical nonviolence for the larger church." Ronald J. Sider, President, Evangelicals for Social Action
"The authors show that peacemaking is not a utopian dream but a realistic possibility." Samuel Escobar Baptist Seminary, Madrid, Spain
"Illustrations from peacebuilding Christians from Indonesia to England to Nicaragua, plus discussion of questions from worship to the workplace, make this book a fruitful resource." Nancy Heisey, President, Mennonite World Conference
"The authors point to a calling that is not complicated, but is deeply challenging and unavoidable if we are serious about following Jesus." Lynn Green, International Chairman, Youth With A Mission
"This splendid little book is both heartening and essential reading. It is scripturally grounded, immensely practical, and hopeful." Jonathan Bonk, Executive Director, Overseas Ministries Study Center
