Great training book for the orchid enthusiast, March 4, 2000
This review is from: Culture of the Phalaenopsis Orchid (Spiral-bound)
Bob Gordon is a respected name in orchid growing, with numerous articles on the subject written for the American Orchid Society 'Bulletin.' His passion is phalaenopsis orchids, and in 'Culture of the Phalaenopsis Orchid,' he begins with the basics of growing healthy plants - light, temperature, humidity, watering, fertilizers and air movement - and then he expands on information for those of us who already have plants and now want to know what it takes to grow award-quality bloomers. As an orchid lover, you'll find yourself returning to his book again and again.

Good book, March 31, 2005
Overall good book for beginner Phalaenopsis enthusiast eager to learn more than just the simplest basics. Gordon does a good job discussing elements of culture that help you understand how to adjust your care to your growing conditions.
This book could use an update with lots of glossy picturs. That's my way of saying that if you are looking for a book that is full of colorful pics of Phal species, this is not the book for you. This book has black & white photos.
Gordon does not discuss any specific species or hybrids. Just overall aspects of how to care for Phals. I would still recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good reference book on Phal culture.
