Ive have been lucky enough to see these hot guys live, twice. Their music is extremely uplifting and positive. There is no way a peson could listen to them and not dance. Their music flows through the audience and makes everyone happy. Their veriety of raggae, latino, funk and more, makes them really exciting to listen to. I was also lucky to get to meet them. They are all awesome, fun guys. I can't wait to go see them live again. They ROCK! I recommend seeing them and buying their records, they are very talented.

The more I listen to this album the more I love it. From the starting track,"MUMIA" which is about the controversial figure Mumia Abu-Jamal, A former radio jounalist, who was shot by the police, and almost died, trying to intervene a steet incident in which his brother was being beaten by that same policeman. That policeman was also shot and killed. He was charged with murder and is now on death row.Many think he is wrongfully accused. FREE MUMIA! This album is filled with political rhetoric, and I love it. This is not your run of the mill watered down, generic crap you hear alot these days, This is a band with brains and talent.They groove an infectious mix of Latin, Raggae, jazz, and funk. I discovered them recently and have been obsessed ever since. I hope these guys come to the East Coast soon. I'd love to see them live. If you like great music with a message, you got to get this album. Also another great band along these same lines is Ozomatli. Check them out too. Look for BSP new album comming in September on the Surfdog Label.

this is great b-side players stuff from the early days. definitely worth having in your c.d. collection, you wont be dissapointed.

"Culture of Resistance," conveys its strength in its lyrics. The songs merge Spanish with English just as easy as they go from sultry to political.
