I don't have problems with the quality of these earrings in general, they are well made [for the price!] though I do not like the metal lever inside and lot's of earrings have them, they turn my ears dark, it never happens when I wear gold earrings with no metal inserts. 14k yellow gold, nobody ever mentions there is a pretty good size cheap metal piece...
I have some problems with the pearls and inaccurate advertising. There are lot's of surface and inner blemishes, the nacre is thin, the luster is not very good, not bad, but they look dull and "matte-ish" comparing to a high-luster pearls. Some thin clear crust peeled off the pearls right out of the package. I don't think it ruined anything yet, but what was it? some kind of polish? I was wondering if they were real pearls at first... They scratch easily, and they have some major blemishes. I am sorry but I would not call it AAA quality. One earring has two big matte white dots in front, one spot is over 1mm, they are inside the pearl and visible on the surface, how could it be missed? Maybe I can turn the pearl around. Another pearl does have a white spot but it is smaller. There are some tiny raised dots, lines and scratches on both pearls visible if you look closely. But after large discolorations, smaller imperfections don't really matter.
Another important thing, they are not 9-10mm, they measure 8-max 8 1/2mm, not being picky but yes, just one millimeter does make a huge difference, we are not measuring shoes here, 9-10 mm pearl looks way larger than 8-9mm one. In case there are some doubts about my measuring skills, I have exactly the same style earrings with black 9-10mm pearls, purchased from O, and they do look larger. I kept the earrings and will wear them with no regrets as I bought them on sale, returns are hassle even if they are hassle-free :o) and waste of time and money, it's ok. I have seen worse quality pearls than these for higher price, so they get a very weak B-/4- because of the sale price. And I should probably remove one more star for tricky advertising, but I won't. Please be prepared, and don't think you are buying $259 earrings for $69, the list price is a joke (it went up from $259 to $395!:O)), you are getting exactly what you are paying for. Overall good deal for the price. Let's hope they don't fall apart quickly.

We purchased these as a Christmas gift and were pleasantly surprised when they arrived - they are nicer in person than they appear in the picture. The black hole at the top of the clasp (in the picture) isn't visible at all on the earrings. The pair we rec'd has perfectly round and blemish-free pearls, which are a generous size. I have some high quality cultured saltwater pearl jewelry, and these freshwater pearls are nearly indistinguishable from my other pearls. Clearly freshwater pearls have come a long way - as a result, these look far more expensive than they are! They were a huge hit with our Mom - she's been wearing them frequently and they look beautiful. Classy but more relaxed than pearl stud earrings.
