3.0 out of 5 stars Not much different from Cultures 1
My wife and I got copies to play cooperatively against the computer. But you cannot share one civilization -- you can only be allied together as different civilizations. And the number of maps and game times is limited for a game of its date.

For a game whose multiplayer play is almost identical to Cultures 1, but advertised to have more multiplayer...

I LOVE THE FIRST CULTURES-MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME-i was looking forward to cultures 2-in some ways i was disappointed-in some ways i was thrilled-i will start with what i didnt like-THOSE GOSH DARN SNAKE PEOPLE!!! i really didnt care for the last campaign in the game-it was frustrating and hard to beat-i spent hours trying to beat it-not because i didnt know how-but because it has to be done within a certain time limit-only reason i stuck with it was because i couldnt stand to quit after having come sooo far-and i spent an entire day feeling rotten-i also felt the fighting was too easy-not near as hard to beat other tribes as cultures 1 is-and that was very disappointing-also the new catapult feature was a pain-they move too slowly and they can be destroyed too easily-what i did like was how the kinks were worked out of the game-easy to marry folks off-the women are not brain dead-the folks dont get lost easily-you dont have to feed your scout-THE GRAPHICS ARE UNBELIEVABLE-JUST A JOY!!! there is an abundance of resources unlike the first game and upgrading buildings is simple-a speed control is built into the game-that is a big plus-carriers can use oxen to carry supplies and close up they are the cutest things you ever saw riding the beasts-ALSO you can get in your ship and sail the seas to other lands-lots of great new aspects and additions to this game and definitely worth buying and playing-but after spending a month with cultures 2-i went right back to my old friend cultures 1-i will be playing cultures 2 again-but only some of the campaigns and not nearly as often as i play the original cultures-if nothing else-the fact that the kinks are worked out of this game and the FANTASTIC GRAPHICS-make this game worth your money

5.0 out of 5 stars Coolio, October 16, 2005
This review is from: Cultures 2 (CD-ROM)
Cultures 2 is an awesome game and you will also learn some facts of the Vikings, the first people who discovered North America. I recommend this game to anyone (even though the ratings say teen, due to some minor sexual things. It is not really bad. It just has hearts that that come out of the buildings when you want the characters to have kids. You can get an idea of how life was back then(with some little exagerations) and it can be cool to be a god sim. Well i give it 5 stars!!

For a game whose multiplayer play is almost identical to Cultures 1, but advertised to have more multiplayer flexibility, we expected more.

The singleplayer play is also almost identical to Cultures 1, but with missions broken up into "city" parts and "explore with your hero" pars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really great game, I recommend for anyone!, November 9, 2005

Ok, sure I've only played a demo of this but over and over again.

(Darn Auto-Fix is on)It's really funny and also a bit bizzare, but all the buildings and things you can make are just sooooooooo cool. Thats what makes this game great for anyone that can play T rated games. Sure, hearts come from the houses, huts or what have you when there increasing the population but you can also pick to have a boy or a girl, boy for extractor (resource gatherer, timber, clay, mushrooms belive it or not) or soldier;or a girl to gather food for the house and furniture.

(turned that auto-fix off now) It's a great game over all and I hope to get it soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cultures 2 - hard to get!, September 26, 2002

It has been a concentrated effort to find the full version. I am yet to play the full version - but the demo version is very addictive! But because you can not save the game in the demo you have to play to the end! The battle scenerio takes two hours to complete and the village - well - as long as you are allowed. You have full control over every character in the game, setting them tasks, and ensuring they stay alive. I am looking forward to getting the full version.
