More About the Author

Barbara Simpson Carducci, AKA Bobbi Carducci, grew up in Binghamton, NY. The second of six lively children born into an extended Irish family she often took refuge under a large shade tree to bask in the peace and quiet and enjoy her favorite books.

She wrote her first story at the age of eight one rainy summer afternoon when her best friend's mother sat the two giggling girls at her dining table, handed them paper and pencil, and invited them to write something. She was hooked and continues to write to this day. Now a grandmother, she enjoys sharing her love of writing with aspiring authors of all ages through writing workshops, school visits, and online classes.

Her book for young readers, Storee Wryter Gets a Dog, earned a Gold Mom's Choice Award for excellence in family friendly products and was named A Best Dog Book for Young Readers in Cesar's Way Magazine, the official publication of Cesar Milan, TVs the Dog Whisperer.

She is the Executive Director of the Young Voices Foundation, an educational nonprofit established to mentor young writers (www.youngvoicesfoundation.org)
She is a former senior staff writer for a Washington, D.C. area newspaper and a professional book reviewer. Her short stories have been published in magazines and anthologies including Chicken Soup for the Soul and Cup of Comfort books.
