This one act play features roles for 2 males and 4 females. This period piece set in London is about a desperate and poverty stricken young woman who asks to be let in to Rosemary Fell's posh town house on a rainy night, for a cup of tea to warm herself. When Rosemary's fiance arrives, he obviously is taken by the young woman's beauty and gives Rosemary 50 pounds to give her to get back on her feet. Perhaps out of jealousy, Rosemary secretively keeps all but 3 pounds for herself and sends the girl on her way into the rainy night. When the maid comes in to deliver a message of thanks from the young lady, Phillip finds out that Rosemary has kept most of the money for herself and not been so kind to the girl as he had thought.
