From the Author

I have wanted to write a book like this since I discovered Douglas Adams when I was 12. I think Science-Fiction and Comedy go well together because so much of Sci-Fi is taken way too seriously by its fans. Not only that but there's a lot of room for surrealism when you've got people on a spaceship or on another planet.
The cupcakes are just there because they taste good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious Sci-Fi Comedy, February 2, 2012
This review is from: Cupcakes and the Centre of the Universe (Kindle Edition)
Cupcakes and the Centre of the Universe is a fun book on many levels. First, it is hilarious! There are many great lines in this book that will have you laughing out loud. The action is fast and constantly moving but this doesn't detract from the dialogue which is witty, clever and often thought-provoking. You feel as though you are exploring the universe with two of your best friends and a moose! The characters are quirky, each possesing some amazing qualities, and all with quite a few tales to tell. I laughed so many times reading this book I wish it could have kept on going, maybe Ms. Moore has a sequel planned?

The amazing events and settings in Cupcakes and the Centre of the Universe mesh together to paint a psychedelic collage of zany adventure. There is a charming romantic component. If I may be so bold as to suggest one of the many meanings in this book, it is "don't try too hard to make sense of things," or if you do try too hard then at least have fun while you are doing it. The cupcake theme is also a wonderful part of the story. I was a big fan of cupcakes before reading the book and I am an even bigger fan of cupcakes now that I know a little bit more about them--such as what planet they come from!

Ms. Moore's writing is fresh, energetic and really a lot of fun. It is very much in the style of Douglas Adams, or even Doctor Who with lots of humor. Cupcakes and the Centre of the Universe is funny, refreshing, fascinating--a blast!
