Not your average romance novel!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cupid : The Bewildering Bequest (Paperback)
The Cupid series from JM Jeffries is wonderful! They include references to pop culture, include heroines with real jobs, bring along the Greek Gods and are a delight to read. Even if you don't normally like romance novels, I bet you'll like these. Wonderfully light and entertaining reading.

Merrill Prescott's first and favorite client, Miss Eulalie Hermione, had died. Instead of leaving her millions to her two greedy relatives, she gave 2 million to each servant and 75 million and the estate to her dog, Psyche's Folly. Merrill and Jason Stavros (Eulalie's carpenter) were to have joint custody of Psyche's Folly. In addition, Merrill and Jason must live together on the estate. The two greedy relatives immediately began making plans to get their hands on the money! Meanwhile, Venus and Cupid were doing their duties of bringing the two together. But when Jupiter saw Merrill, he decided she was to be his next conquest! So he ordered all the Gods and Goddesses to stay out of mortal affairs! That did not stop Venus and Cupid! They got some help from Eulalie and began hatching up schemes to bring Merrill and Jason together and foil Jupiter's plans for Merrill! *** Hilarious! I could not put this one down and highly recommend it! ***

Fun romantic romp,
This review is from: Cupid : The Bewildering Bequest (Paperback)
Although the Greek Gods may have vanished from the thoughts of mankind, they still enjoy interfering in the lives of mortals when the mood strikes them. Cupid and his mother Venus become involved in the life of Jason Stavros when the human attends the funeral of a friend. Jason changed a tire for Cupid and Venus who are disguised as an elderly couple. Cupid gives Jason a gold coin that obligates them to find the mortal his soul mate, a task of Herculean proportion since the man suffered through a disastrous marriage and a brutal divorce.Jason's resolve to avoid aristocratic Southern belles becomes tested when he attends the reading of his friend's will. He meets attorney Merrill Prescott of THE South Carolina Prescotts. Merrill and Jason have been named guardians of the deceased's beloved dog. The will stipulates that the two guardians and their ward live together. Neither Merrill nor Jason likes the idea, but out of love and respect for their departed friend, they agree to honor her last request. Proximity begins to lead to attraction, but before love can fully bloom, the couple must deal with avaricious relatives who want control of the $75 million estate. CUPID: The Bewildering Bequest is an exciting romance that brings the Greek pantheon into the late twentieth century. The Greek Gods seem child-like as they gain pleasure from making life difficult for each other and those mortals they find interesting. J.M Jeffries creates a delightful romp starring an adorable cherub (as long as he points his arrows at some other reader), his oversexed mom, and two human targets. Fans of romantic fantasy will anxiously await Cupid's next victims. Harriet Klausner

I bought this book on a recommendation from a review. Tonight I'm buying the first book in the series. If it is half as good, it's well worth the time. I'm so glad I did. This is one of the funniest books I've read in along time. Thank you J.M. Jeffries and ImaJinn Books. Hurry up with book #3.

What a wonderful light read. And so very, very funny. The ladies who are the writing team are talented storytellers. Merrill and Jason are such a wonderful fun couple with all the usual lust at first site, but I am NOT getting involved! But of course they do - with some most unlikely sort of help. The antics of Cupid and Venus just had me rolling with laughter the entire time. I could just picture Jupiter laying down the law. There is good character developement, along with new plot twists that move the action right along. All that and humor, too, will keep you right there until the last page. Thank you ladies, for the delightful story. Don't miss it, if you like a light, humorous read.
