Book Description

From the USA Today Bestselling Author of Spare Change...
A heartwarming romance right for any season. Narrated by none other than the Love Master himself, Cupid is charged with making certain an older couple gets the love they missed out on the first time around. He's also got to find the perfect match for a young woman who's far too attracted to handsome men with sexy eyes. And, he has to make it happen before Christmas.
Somewhere between Heaven and Earth, Cupid works to maneuver around the complications that threaten to wreck his romance plans. In a battle of will and wit, he struggles to overcome the forces of lust, jealousy and the events brought on by his nemeses--Life Management. He matched John and Eleanor some thirty years ago, but Life Management stepped in and fouled things up. Now they're both single and back together again. But before Cupid can give them the happiness they deserve, he's got to come up with some magic, a few miracles and a dog for John's daughter.

Editorial Reviews

A feel good love story - romance, full of the hills and valleys, highs and lows, roller-coaster ride... that love entails. Bette Lee Crosby's stories and writing style are of the highest caliber. They grab me from the beginning and don't let go, even after the last sentence is read.
FundinMental Book Reviews

Crosby has incredible gift for bringing you memorable characters and weaving tales that touch you.  The pacing is delightful and the characters complex. The tale is shared through multiple POV's adding depth and a personal touch. I found myself giggling aloud and highlighting quotes with tears in my eyes at the end.  The Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Wonderful Story... I was expecting the usual sweet and fluffy Christmas story, the no brainer with a happy ever after ending.  What I got was a wonderful story that sucked me in from page one and did not let me go until the last page.    Musings from Down Under

This story is a Hallmark "feel good" story with Crosby's classic humor... A Book and A Review

Everyday lives become exciting adventures ...Part of the joy of reading Crosby's books is recognizing yourself in the characters. I find myself highlighting more passages in her books than in nearly anything else I read.  James Gracely, Goodreads

After the gold band has been tossed aside and the wedding vows are in tatters, can a story featuring Cupid help mend a person? With Christmas right around the corner, it seemed like reading such a book might be the equivalent of open-heart surgery without the anesthesia. Well I'm glad to report that after only a few pages into Bette Lee Crosby's new book I began to smile. Soon I was actually laughing.

From reading Spare Change and The Twelfth Child, I'm familiar with Crosby's story-telling talent, love of character and language, her delight in complications: it's all in this book right along with the author's sense of how life can work sometimes, how there can be miracles. And so as I read I left off brooding and took up cheering Cupid on as he helps a pair of older singles, a hapless young woman, and a stray dog. It's a story that heals as much through its humor as its wisdom, a story made up of dreams such as we all are made of.

My opinion: Although I thought this book was incredibly cute and typical high quality Bette Lee Crosby writing, it is definitely lighter and a bit more written for a general audience than the books that she normally writes.

On that note, this story is a Hallmark "feel good" story that has Bette's classic humor while weaving a heart warming story just perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Merry Christmas story... September 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Crosby has now become one of my favorite authors! I have read some of her other books like "Spare Change" and thought they were wonderful. This is completely in a different realm for Crosby and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

John and Eleanor met in high school and fell in love. Life happened and they were not able to be together at that time so they both married someone else. Their spouses pass away and when they finally spot each other while shopping, their romance blossoms again. The only thing standing in the way of their happily ever after is their children who need to realize the love in themselves before they can ever be happy.

The story is told from Cupid's point of view and it is charming and funny. A great Christmas love story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute Story December 14, 2012
By Donna A
Format:Kindle Edition
Cupid's Christmas was a cute, light story and is told from 4 POV - Cupid, Eleanor, John and Lindsey. The background of the story is about Eleanor and John, a match Cupid made some 30 years past that was fouled up by Life Management now Cupid has a 2nd chances to make it happen. Eleanor's son Ray is not happy nor is John `s daughter Lindsey happy about their reunion and upcoming marriage.

The 1st half of this story really revolves around Lindsey - who at times is flighty and I found quite irritating - from her losing her job, apartment, moving back home to looking for the perfect man.

It was a quick read and would make a great Hallmark Movie - I would give this book 3 ½ stars. I enjoyed Bette's writing style. I have another book of hers on my TBR list and looking forward to reading it.

At Christmas I love to read "Christmas" books and that is why I picked up Cupid's Christmas. The title along with that sweet dog on the cover sold me. And than I read the book. It is one of the most clever books I have ever read. Part of it told by Cupid was so funny and sweet. It is a love story of several types of love. This is not just a Christmas read. This is a real heart warmer. This is a re-read when I need a real lift.

This is a very easy read. Funny, light hearted and original. I enjoyed Cupid interjection. You had to laugh whenever Cupid thought there might be trouble and whether he would be called out by the boss. Also having Kindle print is great. So easy to order and into your kindle immediately.

4.0 out of 5 stars Puppy Love July 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is cute and a quick read, good if you're very busy in the Christmas season.

Unlike most of the other (free) e-books I downloaded at the same time, the writing and editing are good quality. The concept is also pretty creative and interesting. It's a bit too saccharine for me, honestly, but fits nicely into the 'heart-warming holiday story' genre. It has plenty of love and a couple laughs and a cute puppy.

I think it's worth it for the feel-good factor, if that's your style!

More About the Author

USA Today Bestselling and Award-winning novelist Bette Lee Crosby brings the wit and wisdom of her Southern Mama to works of fiction--the result is a delightful blend of humor, mystery and romance along with a cast of quirky charters who will steal your heart away.

Born in Detroit and raised in a plethora of states scattered across the South and Northeast, Crosby originally studied art and began her career as a packaging designer. When asked to write a few lines of copy for the back of a pantyhose package, she discovered a love for words that was irrepressible. After years of writing for business, she turned to works of fiction and never looked back. "Storytelling is in my blood," Crosby laughingly admits, "My mom was not a writer, but she was a captivating storyteller, so I find myself using bits and pieces of her voice in most everything I write."

Crosby's work was first recognized in 2006 when she received The National League of American Pen Women Award for a then unpublished manuscript. Since that, she has gone on to win several more awards, including another NLAPW award, Royal Palm Literary Awards, the FPA President's Book Award Gold Medal and Reviewer's Choice Award and Reader's View Southeast Fiction Literary Award.

Her published works to date are: Jubilee's Journey (2013), What Matters Most (2013), The Twelfth Child (2012), Cupid's Christmas (2012), Cracks in the Sidewalk (2011), Spare Change (2011), and Life in the Land of IS (2012). Life in the Land of IS is a memoir written for Lani Deauville, a woman the Guinness Book of Records lists as the world's longest living quadriplegic.
