Good fun, despite a few omissions, December 1, 2006

Being a big fan of the show, as well as of Italian film scores, I had to check this CD out. I was a bit surprised to find out that it is not an 'official' soundtrack, but that explains why some of the key pieces used in the show aren't here (contrary to what another reviewer said, I can think of at least 3 tunes off the top of my head which are heard regularly but that aren't on the CD).
A real highlight is the work of Franco Micalizzi, who wrote two of the more memorable pieces (though it is worth mentioning that one of the pieces is quite a different version to that heard in the show). But there's also great stuff from Luis Bacalov, Armando Trovaioli, Carlo Rustichelli, Piero Umiliani, Ennio Morricone, and of course Luciano Michelini's main theme. You'd think you'd never want to hear it again, but somehow it's still enjoyable (though the full 3 and a half minute version is maybe a bit much!)
I'd probably give it a 3.5 really due to the missing pieces, but all in all it's a great selection of music, and very different to the stuff that most TV shows are going for these days.

Deep inside you know you're him, June 18, 2006
This review is from: Curb Your Enthusiasm (Audio CD)
This CD collects the library cues that accompany Larry's trips to the office, to meetings with manager Jeff and to any place where Larry can create mayhem through no real fault of his own. The plots, the dialogue, the acting from an outstanding ensemble and, of course, the music set this show head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.
A brave link perhaps, but Larry brings a little of Maestros Fellini, Leone, Rota & Morricone to Hollywood, while playing out a Spaghetti Western in the synagogue and a comedy of modern manners in a noodle bar or dry-cleaner's.
This is a perfect accompaniment to the DVD's and lovers of Italian cinema music from the 60's and 70's will know just what to expect.
A satisfying collection that is well worthy of investigation - highly recommended.

Perfect for when you have egg on your face, June 30, 2006
This review is from: Curb Your Enthusiasm (Audio CD)
Embarrassing, whimsical, and cringe-worthy, this soundtrack recounts all of the great Larry David moments. Who can help but laugh out loud when they hear the dreaded music that accompanies an angry Susie Green? Any Curb Your Enthusiasm fan will appreciate hearing this selection of songs.
