Quick read with a twist!,

What a great read! Just my kind of book ... grabs you from an early point and doesn't let go until the end. I love a book I can't put down and this is it! Forget about only reading books from the tried and true ... try this one! Johnson's desire for a good read drove him to make it happen with his own book.

I really enjoyed A Cure For All. It is very well written and for the author's first work, very impressive. The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat right up through the suprise ending. What a thrill ride! I highly recommend this one and I hope for at least one sequel.

A Real Page Turner,
By BT (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Cure For All (Paperback)
I just finished reading A Cure For All, and I must commend Mr. Johnson on his outstanding novel. Once I started reading this book, I simply couldn't put it down. It starts with the mysterious death of a research scientist, and suddenly, the private detective who is investigating the case becomes almost a victim himself. Suddenly, no one in his inner circle is safe.
An interesting subject, fast-paced action and an unfolding mystery held my interest from the first page through the epilogue!!

A lot of books claim to be hard to put down...,
By Chaz Podhorniak "AllThatChaz" (Reston, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Cure For All (Paperback)
A lot of books claim to be hard to put down, but this effort by first-time author Johnson is the real deal. Wisecracking former cop Jefferson Stewart III encounters a sniper situation on the first page and the action never lets up from there. Stewart soon finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy surrounding the discovery of a cancer cure and the powers-that-be who are trying to suppress it. Why anyone would want to suppress such a cure is convincingly argued in this thought-provoking novel, but the real attraction here is the unlikely partnership between Stewart and his friend Tyrone, a small-time DC drug seller. Watching the witty chemistry develop between these two is worth the price of admission.
There are some satisfyingly violent moments when Stewart calls in some favors from some old military friends. The surprise ending rounds out this very good read. This ain't Tolstoy, but it sure moves a heck of a lot faster. If Johnson ever gets around to writing about these guys again, I for one will greet them as old friends. |
