Excellent advice, easy to read and easy to follow. This gave me a place to start and has worked very well.

A lot of very useful information in a quick read. I have several of Charles Hicks training help books and have picked up and put into use information and lessons.

Because this is the best information on how to get around this problem, I have experience in having a pony that did not like leaving her mates and this has been a great help, I still have a bit of work to do myself, but at least I do not have a pony that would play up and get quiet scary when I wanted to take her out any were away from her mates.

This book gives you instructions that are easy to follow and very straight forward. The key is to not give up or the horse wins...and he knows it! I have been working with my horse to not get so upset when he leaves his buddies at the barn, and we are starting to get somewhere now. I can ride him way out int the field now and he knows when we head towards the barn we are not always going back there - not that he doesn't want to go, but at least he will listen when we don't! It takes time, and unfortunately most of us don't have a lot, so it takes a lot longer than it should....but if you don't get in a hurry, eventually they get the idea.

I will sum up this ENTIRE 'book' for you... "If your horse does (insert bad habit here), (insert trainer name here) has the best way ever to stop your horse from doing it. If you don't have (insert trainer name here)'s instructional training DVD, you need to get it at (insert link here to the authors retail website for horse training DVD's)." DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANY OF HIS 'BOOKS', THEY ARE ALL LIKE THIS!!!

I agree with the other reviewer. The book does provide good basic information but was very short. This would have made a good chapter in a beginner book, but is way too short for a book by itself. If also did not discuss the scenario I was interested in (herd bound on trail rides).

A very basic overview of how to help your barn sour horse. This "book" pretty much tells you to buy other books to fix your problem

Once again Charlie Hicks has written something that makes sense and is easy to understand! I did not understand why my horse suffers from separation anxiety and what to do about it until now! If you want some great tips on how to help your horse overcome his fears as well as help the horse that keeps calling yours from the barn, this is a must read!!!!
