1.0 out of 5 stars Sorry to say it did not work for us
This book promises many cures for many symptom, however in my and my son's case it just did not work. The first problem was sore throat which continued. Second problem we tried to cure was acne. My son tried using oregano oil under his tongue and as topical to the acne. All that did was make his acne really red and he actually broke out even more. He continued with it...

To the skeptics first: There are authorities of every kind in every area of life. There are those who believe what other people say and don't check things out for themselves. We love to depend on others, especially those hired by the government, by the church & the industry sanctioned experts who are eager to tell us what is good for us, what is true and what is false. In the realm of health, diet, food and medicine it is no different. If one is of this follower mentality we have difficulty differentiating the lies and the sales pitches from fact. If it goes along with our already conditioned (lazy) thinking or comes from an "expert" we buy into it. In the case of Wild Oregano, or more precisely, Oregamax sold by North American Herb and Spice, the proof is in the using of it; the book is merely a simple guide to its use and what ailments it is useful for.

Every body's body is a little different but one thing we all have in common is nutritional needs and we will never get them met from the government-sanctioned food pyramid. Our immune system is either functioning well or not functioning well. Our nutritional status is totally dependent on what we eat and what pathogens and toxins we are consuming in our air, water and food. Wild Oregano is remarkable in its healing effect on the body and in its ability to rid the body of parasites, pathogens & toxins as well as feed the body minerals and antioxidants; if you have used Oregamax according to Ingrams recommendations you will be probably be nodding your head, yes this is true. If you have not used the product you are probably asking where is the proof, where is the scientific evidence, not realizing that scientific evidence merely means money to the scientists (the pharmaceutical companies) and disease to the consumer. Unfortunately the medical profession including doctors, hospitals and the pharmaceutical (chemical) industries do not want you to have your health. There is no money in it for them. So a product that grows wild in the Middle East and costs pennies to harvest, dry and encapsulate is not something that they would be interested in, especially if it caused you to no longer need their assistance to regain your health. They (the doctors) have one of the shortest life spans in America. They follow their own advice and unfortunately we are so naive and gullible we fall for their greedy tactics. This way of thinking is not only happening in the areas of health, medicine and food it is rampant in our society with little to no awareness that it is happening to us, that it is us. We are doing it to ourselves by depending on authorities, which we believe are concerned about our health, when in fact they are concerned about our money. We rank 24th in the world in longevity and spent 1.3 billion dollars last year on health care. Figure that one out for yourself. Actually it is evident what is happening but we must get out of denial about our lives and become our own teachers, our own doctors, and our own food preparers, being more careful about what we eat, supporting organic food producers and learning how to prepare food that won't shorten our lives, using doctors and their marvelous diagnostic devices to find out what is wrong with us then investigating into what we must do to correct our own health.

My experience with Wild Oil of Oregano and Oregamax is amazing and not just a cerebral bit of wishful thinking. In three weeks of using the products I was over a life long illness of stomach and intestinal problems, after three months of taking the products at the higher dosages I reduced to a maintance dose for the next six months. That was four years ago and I must tell you that I have not had a reoccurrence of the dreadful digestive problems and associated illnesses I once had. In addition to that I have a real feeling of well being in my entire body and brain. Whatever it was that was bothering me; bacteria in my stomach, bacteria, viruses, parasites in my intestines, ditto in my organs, brain etc., whatever was living in me that should not have been is gone or reduced in number to a level that my body can tolerate. I must ad that I have used other supplements including; colostrum, MSM, TRC liquid minerals along with a change to a more natural food diet. Not a health food store diet but a truly natural food diet (buy Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon from Amazon.com & log on to the Weston A Price Foundation web site for honest information on diet).

To those who have actually tried the wild oregano products it goes without mentioning the amazing health results one can experience. When I asked a few friends of mine who grew up in the Middle East what they knew about wild oregano, they told me that it is a staple of their diet, used as a condiment to flavor food but with the knowledge of its medicinal uses. They receive packages from their families which contain the same wild oregano we can easily get through mail order. I recommend the book "The Cure is in the Cupboard" since the medical research will probably never be done to confirm its medicinal properties. If it were they would try to patent it, make it a controlled substance and raise the price out of sight.

For those who need the approval of their doctor and the USDA, the pharmaceutical companies and the food producers to qualify everything, please begin to think for yourself, question every thing you have been told, educate yourself and experiment a bit and find out what is true and what is a money making down right lie, otherwise you will be just like most of the rest of the population, exploited for your money at the expense of your health. Cass Ingram is on the right track.

You might as well ignore the other reviews in this section. I've been studying health for 25 years. There are about 5 books that are absolute musts and this is one of them. I have personally used the suggestions in the book with unbelieveable results. So have my patients. My pollen allergies are the worse I've ever seen. Dr. Igram's advice works better than you could ever imagine. I'm 99% symptom free. God bless Cass Igram and this book. From asthma to infectious diseases to all types digestive problems, this book can steer you right.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Cure Is In The Cupboard, March 8, 2001

This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
Although we are believers of alternative medicine and herbal remedies, after reading some of the reviews, I was a bit skeptical. However, I initially ordered the book. I felt that the advice was basically sound so I tried the Oil and the capsules (Oregamax) to see if I could get relief for sinusitis without using prescription antibiotics. The results were truly amazing, and, even though the products may be on the expensive side, I have become a believer in what Dr. Igram is saying, since I received relief from symptoms within 48 hours of starting to use the products.

One word to the consumer, however, if you use the 800#, I found that they quote a "full retail" price. The oil and capsules of the same brand name are now available from other sources that may provide lower prices. This book is well worth owning.... even if one takes only one or two hints out of it for general proctection against bacteria and/or infections (without specifically targeting an illness).

5.0 out of 5 stars Brought relief within hours to both my husband & I., May 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
I purchased this book per my sister's recommendation that oil of oregano or oregano would help detox my system. The day I purchased the book my husband came down with a serious infection (on Saturday of course!). After following the instructions he had relief within hours, as I did also. The book is written like an engineering paper - intro, detail, conclusion. It is easy to read and understand, with enough detail, facts, and substantiation to be effective in winning you over to at least try the healing properties of oregano. Try the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I'm Nuts?, October 24, 2006
This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
I know there is no science behind oregano use. I was suffering from a severe sinus infection. Sprays, pills, medicines, nothing worked. My nose was running so much it was bleeding and my eyes were watering constantly. I've had sinus trouble every year for a week or two when fall hits but this one was going on week 3 and killing me. I found out about this book and then went out and bought some oreganol. I was at my wits end. I took one ounce and held it in my mouth as the instructions say. It is some of the nastiest stuff you'll ever ingest. In 45 minutes to an hour my sinus' cleared up, my eyes quit watering and no more throat drip. Miracle? I don't know and I don't care, but it happened after taking this stuff. Another benefit, the next day my wife asked me what happened to my skin. I sweat a lot and live in FL. I suffer from severe body acne down both my sides. I've been to 2 dermatologists, including a nationally renown expert at Moffit Cancer Center (I've also had melanoma) in Tampa. No one could clear my skin. Guess what, its clear now........??!!??

4.0 out of 5 stars For the most part the book's information is accurate., June 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
I have read the reviews of the three listed by your readers. I became leary after reading the last one, so I did some research on the Herb Oregano. Dr. Ingram's information on the herb is accurate, with the exception of three of his statements. 1. His oregano being the only curing Oregano. I think he owns that N. Am. Herb & Spice Co. 2. I went to ten different Herb books and found Oregano as named in two books. I found it under Wild Marjoram, Mexican Wild Sage, and in an American Indian Herb book under Horsemint. All of these are in the same Genus/Species, meaning that they bare the similar oils with the similar medicinal effects. 3.The other erroneous statement is that, the more than 40 plants in four botanical families, does not confuse which one is medicinal, as they all are effective. By the way, Wild Marjoram was called "joy of the mountain", by the Greeks, which means Oregano and Marjoram are basically the same and have healing properties. Therefore, I feel the herb is well worth a try in natural healing. I'm certainly going to try it for four to six weeks for results. Dr. Ingram's book is basically accurate on the information with the exception of the above mentioned. He would have been more believable to the total population had he not claimed his oregano was the only healing oregano. He could have still plugged his product with a little more sincereity. Still he has put into one book the infomation on Oregano that I found in four other herbal books.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cure All You Must Have, May 3, 2001

This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
4 months ago I started having severe stomach trouble. Cramping pains, nausea, diarrhea, constipation and intense girgling. I was also hungry all the time with whatever this thing was. I've been to a gastroenterologist and they have run tests and can't seem to find anything. They also think it could be a parasite but are not sure. Now they have said it's probably irritable bowel syndrom since they can't find any other answer for it.

The medications they've prescribed me have some bad side effects and aren't helping at all. I began looking on the internet and found this book recommended by other sufferers of IBS. They all had immediate results from Oregano Oil.

I bought this book and the oil. The first morning I used it I put four drops under my tongue. Within 30 minutes I was completely pain free as well as all the other symptons miraculously disappeared. I'm only on my third day but have felt absolutely great. I'm so thankful that I stumbled upon this book. It has changed my life in so many ways. I will never be without it again. The oil is not cheap but you can't put a price on good health.

One quick note: My husband doesn't believe in any natural stuff at all. Well....he's been suffering with a terrible headache the last three days and started vomiting from it last night it was so bad. Finally, this morning I convinced him to let me put a couple of drops on his forehead and rub it in. Within minutes his headache was gone and he wanted to go shopping. I urge everyone to buy this book. You'll wonder how you've made it this far without it. Good luck to all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, sensible concepts., July 5, 2001

This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
I heard about this oil of Oregano from a friend at work and decided to get some, even though I had no health problems at the time. After reading the book and seeing all the interesting uses, I decided to try it on a stubborn case of athlete's foot. It worked perfectly! Exactly as described! I have since used it on mosquito bites, and on my sons' bee sting, on a 3rd degree burn, and I am looking for more oportunities to try it on. Everyone I mention it to seems skeptical, but I have yet to disprove any of the "cures" listed in the book. Although it seems like a bunch of hogwash to the reader at first, it turns out to be informative and sensible. You can't put a price on a quick, safe, cure-all like this one!

4.0 out of 5 stars THE BOOK IS INFORMATIVE; THE PRODUCT STUPENDOUS!!, April 7, 2001
By
This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
Oil of Oregano has made a "new man" out of my grandson! He has had over a dozen ear infections and coughs in his less than two years. My daughter, a nurse and the world's biggest skeptic, was constantly taking him to his pediatrician for antibiotics. He developed a very painful diaper area inflammation with his last medicine. I had heard about this book over the radio and bought it and the product. I suggested to my daughter she put one drop on the back of each of her son's earlobes first diluting it with olive oil. She laughed and ignored my advice until she became very upset over the last infection. She then bought the oil, did *not* bother diluting it and the next day he stopped pulling on his ears! She continued applying the oil in the same way and now, a week later he is fine! She herself developed strep throat. Now a believer, she drank three drops of the oil in a small glass of water. Next day the strep was gone! We're thrilled; I think this product will revolutionize medicine. Or harm it! Please: buy this book AND the product!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Opinion of "The Cure is in The Cupboard", March 11, 2002

This review is from: The Cure Is in the Cupboard: How to Use Oregano for Better Health (Revised Edition) (Paperback)
The book speaks for itself. You must try some of Dr. Ingram's suggestions. It is up to the individual. It's not a "cure all" but if only "one suggestion" works, isn't that enough???

I would like to tell you of my experience.. A dear friend of mine suggested I try oregonal oil. Let me tell you, she was very ill. She has asthma, complicated by sinus drainage to the point she couldn't breath. To the point she couldn't leave the house to walk a couple of blocks.

She had heard about oreganol oil on the radio several times. She decided to go to her local health store to purchase the oil. She tried it and immediately felt her chest and head clear. She hasn't used her inhaler for a week. She was "amazed" and couldn't believe it. She was suffering, I'm a witness, and I couldn't believe it.

I went to my local health store and purchased some for myself. I took some and very shortly, my head and chest cleared. I have been suffering for 30 years from sinus (had surgery) and allergies. I have never felt such a drastic difference. For my sinus and chest congestion, it works.

I'm not saying, at this point, it helps other problems, but I know it works (for me) on my sinuses and chest. It doesn't cure me, but I'm am not suffering, and I can breath. Every Spring I get bronchitis, "so far so good".

I'm so thankful. I have never experienced such a miraculous change from any medicinal or natural substance.

I could only speak for myself. I will be looking for other uses from Dr. Cass Ingram's book. My opinion is, you will get something out of the book.
