How I got this book is amazing. I have 5 Fillings and one day I realised that I had lots of black bits in my teeth, I even saw some brown activity around one of my filling. I tried xylitol, I must admit that there was a reduction in plaque and my tongue looked cleaner. But no change in what I considered to be the decay. I started looking on-line for some natural solutions, I am a full time student barely making rent and food. I saw Nagel's book and his website, I signed up for his newsletter, and read information on the site as much as I can. NO sugar, No gluten, No dairy, was what I started off with at the advice of [...] the principles were similar to Nagel's. But I could not... I do not get organic anything in my country, the agricultural sector is in a mess. SO I made that simple change, then I added CLO, not fermented, I don't get that in my country. I get butter.
I wrote to Nagel down and discouraged and he shared with me a way to purify my meats, eggs and vegetables. this helped. he is so kind and helpful...just a really great person.
But the book was the biggest change, the information is very simple to understand, to be honest I have adapted the basic elements of the book. I don't eat anything raw because I still don't trust my food, I eat lots of liver, steamed vegetables and salads. No milk cause I cannot get it raw. But in-spite of not being able to follow wholly, the blackness on my teeth is almost gone, no groves either, I guessing it filled up. I can't wait for the ones with the fillings to re-mineralize. This is a lifestyle change, It was difficult for my family to understand, I think they still don't but they leave me be. They see that my teeth are cleaner and stronger, but my family still would not try, they say that they love food and life too much...funny...

Ramiel Nagel, in his book Cure Tooth Decay, examines common dental theories and thoroughly explains how these theories have failed us. He teaches us how certain special whole foods can make our teeth sound and resistant to decay. The author not only shows the reader how to prevent gum disease and tooth decay.....but how to heal it once it has occurred. Nagel refutes the widely accepted idea that carbohydrates (such as sugar) sticking to the teeth..... is the prime cause of tooth decay. One of the main points the author shares with us is that it is not the food and bacteria in our mouths which cause tooth decay but it is instead...the condition or structure of our teeth which determines whether or not our teeth will become affected by tooth decay. The author stresses the point that diet is the key factor in preventing and curing many dental problems.

Back in the 30s and 40s a dentist, Dr.Weston Price, travelled around the world conducting his priceless nutritional research on traditional cultures. He found that the remote communities which ate their natural diets (no sugar or other refined foods) had no need for toothbrushes. It was common for members of these communities to have food stuck to their teeth and sometimes Dr. Price found actual green slime on the people's teeth. Despite the lack of what we call dental hygiene, these people rarely had any cavities.
In the foreword to this book, Dr. Timothy Gallagher explains what is really behind our tooth decay epidemic. I want to include the whole paragraph because it is a point that we need to focus on and that Ramiel also focuses on throughout this book.
"Your diet is the key to creating a healthy mouth. There is no other way about it. This is the key issue, and the central theme of Cure Tooth decay.

This second edition is full of fascinating information, inspiring personal stories, and eye-opening scientific evidence. My teeth have been damaged my decay ever since I was a 5 year old diagnosed with an abscessed tooth and had it extracted by an oral surgeon. This led to years of orthodontics, many cavities drilled and filled, with no hope for any whole/natural strategy. I feel that I have been shown the light through the guidance in this book. Now,I have the power to take control of my own health, and the health of my partner and children. My family and I are integrating the remineralization regimen into our liftestyle/diet, and have experienced great progress. After 6 months, two of my sensitive cavities are now mostly remineralized, and my gums are much less sensitive. The diet protocol is manageable on a budget and can be prepared even in a busy schedule. My family and I will continue to reference this valuable resource for decades to come. Thank you Rami, for your work of service to this and future generations.

We have always tried to eat healthy and make sure the kids brush their teeth, but every visit to the dentist showed more cavities. I was so frustrated! I also figured if bones can heal themselves when set correctly why couldn't teeth remineralize. My frustration led me to search again for a cure for tooth decay. I was so pleased to find this book! After reading it, I bought another one to lend out. We only made one simple change in our diet by adding fermented cod liver oil with butter oil. Good info at [...] but can also get it through Amazon Green Pasture's Blue Ice Royal Butter Oil / Fermented Cod Liver Oil Blend - CINNAMON GEL - 8.1 fl.oz (240ml)
Cavities that my children had have remineralized. Tooth sensitivities are gone. And dental visits are so much cheeper! Nagel has done a lot of research and covers more than just decay. This is a book I will keep for reference and make sure each of my children have when they start their own families.
