5.0 out of 5 stars Get Yourself Back To Health with Sound Advice February 3, 2014
By Penny
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The saddest thing about the information in this book is that people will buy it after they are already suffering from back pain. West does a great job of providing easy to follow tips and advice on how to gain and maintain a healthy back. Sure, you aren't going to find some ancient secret or silver bullet in this book, but common sense is rather uncommon these days and for less than the price of lunch you can get some really helpful knowledge on how to decrease your back pain or prevent it altogether. West's friendly writing style never takes on a preachy tone, and is like a helpful friend who truly wants to see you live a pain free and active life.

As a freelance writer myself, I know the dangers of sitting all day; cushy indoor jobs can really hurt you. I can't live without stretching, yoga, and meditation; and this book delivers some excellent instructions and images to help get you started with your own regimen. The advice on buying beds and ergonomic chairs is also quite helpful, I have a "special" office chair and it makes a world of difference. Bottom line, this is a great 30 minute read and a good source of information for those who experience back pain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly informative book about back pain relief April 3, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
“Wow” best describes my thoughts after reading this book.

I liked how the author organized the content and the list in the beginning that summed up each tip. Just in the “summed up” section I learned some beneficial information.

The author tells us how he was hit by a truck (literally). That hit and run accident was one of several incidents over the years that caused him significant back pain. He makes his experiences into learning experiences and I liked that approach.

He repeatedly states that he is not a medical doctor. I think he is an excellent teacher though as he meticulously walks us through information about sciatica, great illustrations and a wealth of other information. This is definitely not a slapped together book.

I liked the author’s writing style. I felt he was very sincere in trying to help people suffering with back pain.

I definitely recommend this book if you or a loved one has back pain.

Personally, I suggest buying it before the back pain occurs as you may learn some things to prevent the back pain from happening
in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great healing Tips July 16, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I (41 yr old male) had sciatic pain in my right leg only since 2 months and I made mistake of not seeing primary physician (violating your 1st tip). Instead I went to Chiropractor who did adjustments about 12 now. He didn't even do any leg moment examination for my condition. I didn't see complete relief although the pain intensity came down. I was taking massage therapy which is helping.

The pain started after I was doing lot of glute machine exercises and some deadlifts...My suspicion is that it may be muscle issue rather than disk issue. I will let my physician decide that. Another bad thing I did for years is bad posture and carrying wallet on my right back pocket. I do travel job in computer's and I sit for hours at work and also fly frequently for my job. After I suffered sciatica, I got into mild depression worried if this condition may haunt me for long time in future.

I was very impressed with the comprehensive information about this painful condition. The pictures your presented were helpful. The thing I liked the most is that you are only one of the few authors who highlighted about muscle problems which might trap sciatic nerve. Most people were focused only on the disk herniation aspect of it although it is one the main causes.

The book has great tips to relieve the pain naturally. It also advices to see doctor's help along with giving self-help exercises. I have been doing Yoga and Swimming as prescribed in the book and they do help. The goes into detail on who we wreck our back with bad posture and improper lifting and suggests constructive advice. After reading this book, I am more conscious of my back !

Knowledge is Power. I highly recommend this crisp and easy reading style book with some real healing tips !

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Relief for Sciatica and Back Pain February 16, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Top Ten Cures for Sciatica and Back Pain is simply excellent.

I worked in a sitting position as a secretary for over 25 years and I know all about Sciatica. I was able to get some relief from some of the exercises in this book. The pictures and graphics were very helpful.

Some of the tips will cost some money but others are inexpensive or cost free. I have been planning on buying a new mattress and now I know what I need in a mattress for my back.

The products in the book are not endorsed by the writer so he has nothing to gain by suggesting a helpful solution. I like that!

If you suffer from Sciatica and back pain this is a very good book and well worth your time and money!

The Peace of Gaza

Grover Norquist - The Fool Who Would Be King

Kwenda - A Lost Woman Of War

Depression Symptoms Decoded for a Vibrant Recovery after Injury.

Blood and Venom

Mitt Romney Too Weird To Be President

MaelStrom To London

"Kwenda, Women Slaves of War" tells the true story of motherhood caught in the cruelty of modern warfare. This story paints a story that will touch you to the core, and you will both weep and cheer.

"Depression Symptoms Decoded" is a deep analysis of depression symptoms with a Jungian view of each symptom demonstrated: weeping, sex issues, rage, eating disorders, isolation, fatigue, confusion addiction, recurrent dreams and dark thoughts. The pioneering self-help book on depression delves deeply into the meaning of each symptom of depression as a pattern for emotional need. By decoding your type of depression symptoms you can identify a means of overcoming depression.

"Rise of the Maiden - Blood and Venom" is a new twist on the paranormal. Emily Black is a compelling and strong female character who exemplifies a Byronic role. She is every bit as intelligent, smart and dangerous as role reserved for traditionally male leading characters. The darkness of this thriller include haunting of a mother's ghost, and the insanity of a kidnapper who practices vampire occultism. This is combined with the unusual aspect of drug addiction as found in Victorian London.

The visual artwork of Stephen Paul West integrates a modern scope of artistic expression with an earthy and positive view of the world around us.
