This book is packed full of information that you can use. A lot of it is about Chinese herbs that I don't have access too, so I don't care about it, but there is a solid section on acupressure or self massage that gives pretty detailed instructions on how to massage yourself to treat depression. It feels pretty nice after you give yourself a session of this self massage which takes about 30 minutes. Apparently such practices are pretty common in Chinese medicine. There is also a section on magnetic therapy which I applied and it made a big difference in my sleep! At least when I use it. It is weird and unexpected, but taping magnets to by feet seems to help me sleep. I don't use this all of the time. And the effect seems to wear off the more days in a row that I use it. But the fact that that has any effect whatsoever is surprising to me! There is a lot of technical information in this book about Chinese medicine that I could never hope to understand, but it is nice to have this resource in case I ever need it. I was also hoping to try out the five star acupuncture thing, but I wasn't able to find a trustworthy tool that I could use. Apparently it causes bleeding. There is a lot of instructions on how to self treat in this book using various Chinese medicine modalities. And I appreciate this attitude of self treatment.

I borrowed this book from the "lending library" in my acupuncturist's office. I have been in pain for a long time, and the depression increased until I went for acupuncture. Between my Dr. and my book, I am well on my way......C.Fahy
