When the now iconic Man in the Big Yellow Hat warns Curious George,"now don't wander off and get into trouble," we know exactly what's about to happen instead (especially since he had already rushed off). Despite his good intentions, George adventures turn into misadventures: Dousing someone's campfire, getting lost with a galloping deer, and being sprayed by a skunk that George thought was a cat. As usual in these series (story by Margret Rey, with illustrations by a team in the style of the late H.A. Rey), George's curiosity also leads to some monkey heroics. He also learns how to get rid of skunk smell (a vat of tomato juice).

Given its forest setting, this is a somewhat quieter `George book,' but there are soft forest and animal drawings and enough action for the small ones. Curious George is now "a registered trademark of the Houghton Mifflin," but the company encourages young readers to look for the `original adventures about Curious George' by the Reys. 24 pages, with pencil and watercolor illustrations on each one.

I was very disappointed in this Kindle version of the book for my iPad. I thought I was purchasing a color illustrated book. The cover is brightly colored. Sadly the inside of the book is black and white. It would be nice if you had a look inside feature to children books so you could see what you were buying.

I wish I had checked out the reviews prior to purchase. This book is not in color. I am a loyal Amazon customer, but I feel duped. If you show a brightly colored cover, the download show be the same. This has never happened to me with an iBook purchase.

All six of my children have loved Curious George books and I have to read them to them until they have memorized them. In this book George get in to mischief as usual but all ends up well in the end, of course.

My daughter just loves curious George and in fact that was her last birthday theme. We gave out an assortment of these as favors. Everyone loved the idea.

This book was purchased for a 3-year-old who wants to learn about camping. He is a Curious George enthusiast and loved the story.

this book is very cute and was a perfect gift for my neice, who i will be taking camping for the first time this summer. she loved the story and is excited to sleep in a tent after reading this book. great for ages 4-7.

I've bought many Curious George books for my grandchildren. He is one of their favorites. The stories are all very relative to their lives.

The George books are all awesome! Our 4 year-old son has liked every one, and we've liked them. They're pretty quick and easy reading, takes 3-5 minutes to complete, depending on how long he want's to look at each page after you're done reading them. But they are good, cute stories, just like the shows, he laughs out loud and comments quite a bit as we're reading. If you watch the show and haven't read any of the books before, they are very similar in style and look to each other, as close as a kids book to a kids show can be. No one book has been any better or worse than any of the others, they're all very good. We will probably end up buying them all.

We love this book! We bought it so we could take it with us for our son's first camping trip. Super cute!!
