This is a cute little Curious George plush toy, but my daughter has trouble making him laugh under his arms like the box says. You have to press hard and often before you finally hit a spot that makes him laugh. His feet are the easiest parts to tickle, followed distantly by under his chin.

He is a cute toy, and it is especially funny when you hit the "wiggle" spot which makes him shake and laugh with joy.

Though I wouldn't recommend him for children under three, he's the perfect gift for kids who understand how to make him laugh in every spot he's supposed to.

My 3-year-old son loves the Tickle Curious George TV ads so much that he goes around tickling pictures of Curious George on Life cereal boxes, so it was a no-brainer to buy this doll for his third birthday this week. However, when it arrived (two days later than promised) we were really disappointed.

The TV ads make it look like George has a funny and cute little laugh that will really get kids giggling along. The truth is, George's laughs are short, weird, and almost creepy.

In the ads, the kids are actually tickling George and getting a reaction. In reality, you have to push directly on the specific buttons under his arms, on his stomach, or on his feet to get a laugh. My poor little guy keeps tickling his doll in vain, because he doesn't hit the right spots.

The "magic tickle spot" isn't anything specific and it doesn't turn up very frequently. Basically, you have to keep hitting the five tickle buttons until one of them becomes the "magic spot." Then the doll vibrates and the creepy laughs last a little longer. Once it ends, it may be hours or days before the magic spot turns up again.

The doll is cute, so we've kept it anyway; my son and husband are both George fans and the tickles are like a bonus on a cute stuffed animal. But my husband and I are really disappointed by the substantial difference between the ads and the product. As for durability, we haven't had it long enough to comment. The battery pack does have an on/off switch that seems to get switched frequently by itself, perhaps during the "tickling"; if your toy stops working suddenly, pull out the pack and that will probably be the problem.

This toy has the very most adorable laughs in the whole wide world, and a wonderful variety. Then when you catch it at the right time, it shakes and wiggles. It could entertain me for hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars our newest family member, October 7, 2006
This review is from: Curious George - Tickle N Giggle (Toy)
My son got this for his second birthday, and loves it. He loves "tickling" George, aka pressing on his feet and belly to get him to laugh. The Magic spot, is indeed magical, we hardly ever find it, but when we do it's a hoot. I haven't seen any of the commercials for it, but do you really expect a toy to be "just like in the commercial"? Come on now, we all know better than that. I also bought him a "little george" since for a good while George had to travel with us EVERYWHERE, and my son's first reaction was "It doesn't work" since "little George" doesn't giggle, is just a doll. I highly recomend him as a toy and companion for your child...and newborn shirts fit him perfectly!

This George is cute and fun to play with. Couldn't ask for a better present. The laugh is a bit cynical, however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tickle and Giggle, January 2, 2007
This review is from: Curious George - Tickle N Giggle (Toy)
My 4 year old son got this for Christmas and he loves it. So do I. He takes him to bed with him every night and I just laugh to myself as I hear George's and my son's giggling coming from his room. As some others reviewers have stated, it may be difficult for little hands to make George laugh, however, we haven't had any problems. The the magic tickle spot makes me laugh out loud every time. My son has never been one to like stuffed animals much, but he just loves his "monkey George"!

1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING!!! DANGER!!! CHOKING HAZARD!!!, December 15, 2006
This review is from: Curious George - Tickle N Giggle (Toy)
WARNING!!!! I purchased this toy for my child and the button on his back side came off very easily and my 1 year old was ready to put it in his mouth. I have contacted Marvel and told about the problem. The toy is very cute but I warn parents of purchasing this for a young child. My 4 year old still puts stuff in his mouth. This button is just the right size for a baby or young child to choke on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Georgie is so cute!, January 31, 2007
This review is from: Curious George - Tickle N Giggle (Toy)
Okay the bottom line is that this doll is so cute! The issues are that the tickling isn't exactly tickling. You press the buttons in his feets and sides and he giggles. My 6 month old absolutely loves his, "Monkey the George". It really is cute, but he can't make him giggle on his own, but he loves to bite his mouth, ears and little hair.
